Kelly gives Floyd an ultimatum

08:18 AM ET 05.25 | If suspended Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd is looking to take his career out of limbo, Brian Kelly spelled out the path. "We're looking at Mike as an 'all in or not' situation," Kelly told the South Bend Tribune. "In other words, he's changing his life or he's not. If he changes the way he's lived his life, he'll play every game for us. If he doesn't, he won't play one down here at Notre Dame. He is at that level. This is not, 'I'm going to slap you on the hand and sit you for two games' -- because I don't want to read about him in a year, where it says, 'Ex-Notre Dame player arrested for X-Y-Z'. That will be a failing on my part if that happens." Floyd, a 21-year-old senior-to-be from St. Paul, Minn., was arrested on the Notre Dame campus on March 20 for drunk driving.

Translation: He'll play every game.

Yea, never read that about any ex-Cincy players!

Pretty typical college stuff, really, but the kid needs to grow up. He has the talent to be one of the best receivers in the country, but he needs an attitude adjustment.

Exactly. He'll play every game. ND is too close to a BCS game with him. Without him (this year) they're8-4, maybe 9-3. ND's toughest games will be S. Florida and Stanford. Watch and see. Skip Holtz is infamous for early year upsets - check the records.

Interesting. The Sparty, TSUN and Purdue games are reported to be a "murderer's row" in a certain unnamed conference so how can those games not be the toughest for an independent like ND?

No. I meant to say with him they are 9-3 but without him 7-5.

If they need to depend on him to be on the field to go 9-3 then it's going to be a long season in South Bend.

:D That's the fun in being independent. We get to play teams from all the conferences(except the SEC, only UTk wants to come north =[ )

Notre Dame needs to come south! I want the ND-GT rivalry to start back up, it was a great one.
