Kolb trusting in Reid

08:01 AM ET 05.27 | Kevin Kolb can't help but remember the text he received from his head coach. Kolb is counting on Andy Reid. Whenever Kolb talks about Reid -- as the quarterback did Thursday, after joining the Eagles' informal player workouts at a field in Burlington County -- he uses the same phrase. Kolb said he texted the Eagles' coach during the brief thaw in the NFL lockout last month, and Reid "threw in there at the very end, he said, 'I'll do what's best for you.' He always keeps me in mind. He does that for all his players and all his coaches. That's what makes him great, that's why he's been around as long as any coach that's coaching right now."

Andy Reid texting. Funny.

May 27, 2011  08:22 AM ET

The only thing I'd trust Andy Reid with would be cleaning his, and everyone else's, plate.

May 27, 2011  08:25 AM ET

Andy Reid: "I'll do what's best for you".

Andy Reid Translation: "I'll does what's best for you when we deem it necessary to get rid of you". (The needs of the team outweigh the needs of YOU).

Kolb, make your money and stay as Vicks backup. Sup P-Dubya..

May 27, 2011  08:31 AM ET

He did what's "best for him" when he benched him in favor of Michael Vick. It seems that it did more for Vick, the Eagles, and himself than Kolb.

Kolb should do whatever he can to get out of there. He needs to see if he really can be the QB many think he can be. He will never please the fans in Philadelphia, so there's one strike against remaining there. Vick adds "excitement" (I guess) to the offense, so there's strike two. Reid could potentially be the strike three.

"He always keeps me in mind' Especially when I get some sucker to bite on this 1st round pick for you..

Can you imagine those fat fingers working a little tiny cell phone keyboard? Hilarious. I can't imagine how he can see the phone beyond those chins unless he holds it straight out in front of his face. And then he needs I-beam supports to hold his arms up.

Watch him do what the Pats did for Matt Cassel. They franchised him, then traded him. Cassel got the big paycheck, and the chance to start.

The trouble is, you just know Michael Vick is going to miss a few games due to injury. It's his game. Philly needs a backup who might actually be able to win a game or two. So, what's best for Kolb ain't gonna be what's best for the Eagles.

I cannot imagine those sausage fingers texting

May 27, 2011  09:12 AM ET

"[Kolb] is counting on Andy Reid." English translation......"I'm a gullible fool and the proud owner of several beach front lots in Kansas and Arizona"

May 27, 2011  09:13 AM ET

Where by the way he is probably going to moving to soon.

Exactly! Kolb is a very important Pawn.

Trust no one!

Ask Donovan how that worked out. Traded to a team with no WR and can not block.

May 27, 2011  09:51 AM ET

"I'll do what's best for you."

BOHICA Kolb (but he might be doing you a favor in the long run)
