08:12 AM ET 05.27 | Tampa Bay is at it again. The Rays wore T-shirts and caps repping their favorite domestic automakers on the way home Wednesday, and manager Joe Maddon has bigger plans for their next themed dress-up trip. It'll be "grunge" from Tampa to Seattle, with their shirts "customized" by Johnny Damon in cutting off sleeves, plus "express yourself" with belts, shoes and hats. Then Beach Boys wear, from Seattle to Southern California. And pajamas and loungewear for a "sleepover" on a red-eye flight to Baltimore. Damon, who has the sleeves cut off his T-shirts to show off his biceps, was at first taken aback by the assignment but ready for it: "I've got some decent ideas for a few guys."

Perhaps a focus on playing baseball might lead to better results on the field.

I got to give Maddon credit, he's done a great job with a team that after losing so many players in the off season not much was expected out of them. I don't know about all these theme things, though when your winning I'm sure the player's have fun with it.

PJ's?? So when they play interleague games against the Marlins are they going to dress in drag for that trip?

I've not been as impressed with Maddon as many pundits are. You give me ten years of top draft picks for my team and we will be a very good baseball team. Now that those youngsters eligible for free agency are leaving and the "top of the draft" picks are no longer rolling in we will see what Joe is made of. Wearing PJ's ain't gonna make them better.

Seems that would be more appropriate for the trip to San Francisco.

Maybe they could wear T-shirts and hats of all the MLB teams that are better than they are.

Bill Lumbergh: Oh, and remember: next Friday... is Hawaiian shirt day. So, you know, if you want to, go ahead and wear a Hawaiian shirt and jeans.

Pittsburgh has had over 10 plus years of top draft picks and they haven't been able to do squat with that so you have to give credit to Joe Maddon and the Tampa organization for not missing on those picks.

Good call becase in their division the two teams with payrolls almost doubling theirs are a grand 3 games up..oh wait, what?

Damon says, "You dress like a cowboy, you're an Indian, Evan's the construction worker, I'm the cop..."

having just gotten back from a two week stay in Miami, She/male would be more like it. But you're very, very close.

You seem to be confusing the responsibilites of Managers and General Managers.

There aren't a lot of those. Maybe a handful at most.
