BCS won't likely turn back on MWC

08:22 AM ET 05.27 | The much ado may soon be over. The whining and complaining, the NCAA double talk, the nonsensical government intervention. This time next year, the Mountain West Conference will be part of college football's elite postseason plan and the BCS will have effectively ended all discussion of a national playoff. Not because the BCS wants another partner -- but because the BCS needs the Mountain West Conference. For two years, anyway. ... Biting the bullet for two years can lead to the BCS operating in autonomy for as long as it wants. The MWC is in the fourth year of a four-year BCS conference strength analysis.

Not really, AFA should be good again this year, as will SDSU. Next year Nevada and Fresno join up. Not the world's strongest lineup, and it would have been better for BYU, TCU, and Utah to stay put, but the 2012 MWC certainly is better than this year's version (or the 2010 version) of the BE.
