'Rampage' feels he's underpromoted

08:02 AM ET 05.28 | Sometimes even former UFC champions feel unappreciated at work. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, the popular light heavyweight, said he has felt overlooked and underloved in the sport. "I'm the first undisputed light heavyweight champion," he said. "I beat Dan Henderson [to unify the UFC and Pride titles]. That's not really promoted much. I feel I'm one of the more entertaining fighters. That's not promoted much." Critics have said that Jackson's attention has strayed beyond the Octagon. Jackson, 32, has a budding acting career after starring in last summer's "The A-Team" and has expressed an interest to retire at 35.

Underloved? Apparently he has never watched "A-Team", because if he did, then he would know why he is underloved.
When Waterboarding doesn't work with suspected terrorists, they are shown "The A-Team". It ranks up their with "No Holds Barred" and "Mr. Nanny".
Underpromoted? Then he shouldn't have lost his belt. Stop whining and win it back.
There is a reason why Couture was and will always be one of the most loved and respected fighters...he was humble. Don't try to convince the fans that you are underloved and underpromoted with words, do it in the octogon. Win or Lose, Couture had everyone's respect. He earned it in the octogon and in training, not on the Silver Screen and not crying about he should be loved more.

Well he did drop out of the fight with Evans to make a movie didn't he? What does he expect the UFC to do when instead of fighting for the company you're making movies?

Rampage's career at UFC has not really been up to the levels he had at Pride for sure. Unfortunately for him his Pride days are still remembered as the best memories of him and thus when he gets measured against that yard stick he falls short and probably why gets less appreciation

Randy Couture is easily the most overrated and misunderstood fighter in the history of MMA. PERIOD.
To say Couture is one of the most loved fighters simply proves that MMA fans aren't too bright. Couture had a mediocre record and if you look at his resume, it pales in comparison to the true superstars (Fedor, Nogs, Cro Cop, Henderson, Wandy, Rua etc) of the sport. And when you also factor in the fact that Randy screwed over his supposed best friend Dan Henderson with respect to a company they co-owned at the time, AND Randy has cheated (and he writes happily about this in his books) on ALL of his former wives - the man hardly oozes class. Sure, he talks a good game on the camera, but he's clearly overrated, and a jerk in nice-guy clothing.
If Randy Couture had unified the Pride and UFC titles, they would have named a small country after him. They could have called it overratedland.

Lets just look at this comment for a minute...
Rampage's UFC career...
First fight was a get over the nerves grudge match against Marvin Eastman (who had beaten Rampage by the way) - and it was a solid win.
Rampage then fought some guy named Chuck Liddell who hadn't lost in four years (and for 100 points, you're right if you said the LAST guy Chuck lost to was also Rampage) and clearly, the KO started a downward spiral for Chuckie...
Rampage THEN fought one of the legends of the sport, and unified the Pride and UFC LHW titles. I'm not sure how you have a MORE impressive first three matches in the UFC... but anyway...
Rampage then loses a questionable decision to UFC golden boy Forrest Griffin. No harm in losing a razor thin decision, although I thought to BE the champ you had to BEAT the champ, and Forrest really didn't BEAT Rampage, but whatever...
Rampage then avenges his two Pride losses to Wanderlei Silva by KO'ing Wandy in less than a round
Jackson then beats the weird and hard to train for Keith Jardine in a fight of the night.
Jackson then loses a UD to Rashad. This one hurts. But it's not like Rashad sucks. He WAS the LHW champion at one time. And if Page was in shape, who knows...
Rampage then wins a questionable decision to Lyoto Machida. I was there, the fight could have gone either way, just like the Griffin fight. So really, Rampage was unlucky against Forrest, and probably lucky against Lyoto. It all works out.
Rampage wins a UD against a guy who really is nothing more than a gatekeeper, but it was a nice fight by 'Page.
So in the UFC, Page avenged losses to Eastman and Wandy, he took the belt from Chuck, he outworked and outmuscled Dan Henderson, he beat Lyoto Machida who had beaten everyone he faced NOT named Rua, and won a couple other fights. Oh yeah, and he lost to Evans.
So Rampage loses the belt to Forrest. Rampage loses to another guy who held the belt. Outside of that he went 7-0. I'd say the ONLY black mark against Jackson during his time in the UFC, was getting destroyed on TUF by Evans, who totally outcoached Jackson. Otherwise, Rampage has done about as well in UFC as he did in Pride
