It appears running back Travis Henry will be with the Broncos at least another week. The NFL said Tuesday there wouldn't be an announcement on Henry's future. While the league could make an announcement at any time on Henry's appeal of a one-year NFL drug suspension, it is protocol that the league doesn't make personnel decisions once the work week begins (Wednesdays). With Henry apparently available to play against the Raiders in Oakland on Sunday, he said Monday he expects to be healthy enough to play.

I believe as soon as it is proven they took drugs, they should be out right away!! Too many players that play by the rules want to play- "weed" out the ones that don't!! TSK

Jr. #88 Fan,

There has to be some sort of due process, becuase it was in the collective bargaining agreement. More than likely he did do it, but he is going through some great lengths (lie detector, hair sample) to prove he didn't do it. It is not like people don't get things wrong. Look at the people who have gotten out ot jail after DNA exonerated them.

I don't know weed ain't as big of a deal as steroids im sorry it doesn't do anything a lot of people from NFL used to weed to calm them down after playing because you have to be physical 24/7 on the field and off the field they have a hard time turning that off. Alcohol is worse than weed. You can wreck your system faster drinking than smoking a little weed. But rules are rules I have a feelin' tho if. The world continues how it it is, either both substances I talked about will be legal or illegal.

Think about what playing football does to you body over time. Now weigh the cost of constantly using prescription pain killers (long term kidney damage and the probability of addiction and abuse) against the cost of smoking a joint.

This is a league where Tank Williams and his guns get exonerated before Ricky Williams and his weed. I think the NFL is just doing it's part for the War on Rationality...I mean War on Drugs.

Another sad story of a good player that cannot make good choices... sad.

amen to that

November 29, 2007  12:01 PM ET

Well, I am not sure what drug he got busted for.

Tests can be wrong. I wonder how he was tested, and what he is going through to attempt Exoneratio

Another knucklehead that thinks he can beat the system. Not!!!

November 29, 2007  01:27 PM ET

It wil be nice to have him but do we really don't nead him Selvon Young is fitting in nicley. Just lke all of the other backs that we have went through in Denver. Glad to see him back for now, but not a big deal if he is suspended or whatever for the drugs, because Denver will be fine without him.

Drugs are bad mmmkay..

November 29, 2007  07:24 PM ET

You can say whatever you want about weed not being as bad as alcohol. I'm not saying you're wrong, buy I will tell you that I don't think that one or two beers has nearly the effect that even one hit on a joint does. I wouldn't know, though. I've never done drugs. I think the league should be more prompt though. Something just isn't right about waiting through an injury to suspend a guy. If you're gonna suspend him, suspend him. Don't make him sit out longer if he's already gonna sit out a year. I hope these players can realize what they have and not make a bad choice that they know is gonna screw it up.

Leave travis Henry alone, he will play but why I dont know. Broncos suck and this is surprising seeing as how just two short years ago Jake Plummer led the Broncos to the AFC championship game
