09:43 AM ET 05.29 | Controversial new rules. Grumpy drivers. Back-room deals. Twitter feuds. Upstart outfits trying to make a name for themselves. Is this IndyCar or NASCAR? IndyCar CEO Randy Bernard disputes the series is turning into NASCAR-lite. There are no plans to amend the points policy the way NASCAR did in the offseason. I went to the '81 Indy race. Way too many people, but the excitement was there, and for the most part it was fun being a part of this tradition.

Sure isn't like the old days, when the drivers raced with their guts and heart for a win, ask Unser - Foyt - and the rest, Oh and Mario, those were the days.

Interesting race so far, but NASCAR would not let the car leave the pits with a tire loose, I'll give them that.

The passion from the crowds seems to be as strong as ever.
Excellent finish....not sure why Rehal let Weldon go right by him to win.
I knew when Danica was leading that she would not hold onto to it with 12 laps to go......kinda like her Nascar boss Jr.......drops the ball at the end LOL
