08:10 AM ET 05.30 | John Kuester is still -- though a weekend report suggests otherwise -- the coach of the Pistons. A team source with firsthand knowledge of the situation said today that no major decisions will be made until the sale of the franchise to Los Angeles-based financier Tom Gores is complete and that nothing has changed since the end of the regular season. The source requested anonymity because he isn't authorized to speak for Gores, who is expected to gain control sometime this week. Kuester, reached by phone this afternoon, told the Free Press that he has not met with Pistons president of basketball operations Joe Dumars to discuss his future with the organization or whether he will return for the final season of the three-year deal he agreed to when he was hired in the summer of 2009.

guess Detroit's future head coach isn't available right now or something. That would be the only reason to keep Kuester

Do know how Awful Detroit will be next year ....
1) NEW coach with less fiction with the Players?, ..
2) add the 8th Pick, to also maybe J Jerebko coming back from Injury ...
3) RIP contact is moveable vs making RIP a Salary Dump, and who knows maybe IF RIP is not in the Coach's Dog House like he was with Kruster, maybe RIP can get back to 2008 Stat before Kruster ....

s/b Do NOT Know how Awful ....

May 30, 2011  01:12 PM ET

the question is, why would want to coach in Detroit? Aging roster, malcontent players AND not that much talent

May 30, 2011  01:18 PM ET

wake me up in 2012 when the next season starts

May 30, 2011  01:21 PM ET

I might could get back my interest in the NBA, if just once, if they would tell these players to quit being a bunch of whiney babies and "NO!".... What kind of screwball league is this when you have to get a players permission to hire a coach???

Oh I agree with u totally but it all comes down to Joe and this pick....we need to get bigger or we will be right back to where we were this season....And figure out what to do with Suckey..I say trade him but Joe has a thing for the guy.

Well for starters Greg Monroe looks like a quility big man.......If they ever play Daye at the right position then he is an asset. Im looking for Gordon(who I didnt want to begin with) to pick his game up. Now my issue is wit Suckey oh I mean Stuckey. He is a bench player at best but can give u quility minutes.....but with no point and another big we need a quility coach who can teach.
