+1. But the stipend can only be to fill the gap between the academic scholarship and the "full cost of attendance" the school publishes as a guide to all prospective students. Also, I bet Title IX will require that a school pay the same stipend to all of its scholarship athletes. I'd hate for this to lead to some schools dropping more non-revenue sports.

Pretty much why I think it probably will never happen. But, that's just me. I never thought USC would be punished.
