08:07 AM ET 06.01 | There's a chance Jerry West's arrival spells a significant shakeup on the roster. In fact, when you study all things Warriors and West -- not necessarily in that order -- the Monta Ellis foreshadowing is hard to miss. It's nothing personal. It's just basketball business. And with West on board as management's newest, sharpest voice, it seems likely that West already has begun to survey trade options for Ellis. "I've seen teams trade players that score tons of points and people say, 'How in the world can you trade that player?'" West said last week. "Because he might score tons of points and the team doesn't win. ... When I look at [the Warriors], obviously they need more size."

Left hand... he'll be fine.

If they don't do a better job on the offensive glass and if the bench scores another 17 points though...

It was a close game and went about the way i figured it was...The announcers ABC have are horrible all they talked about was how great the heat were and what amazing defense they played and on an on....Then you look at it and Dallas played just as good of d and missed a LOT of open shots...(im looking at you JJ, Peja, and Terry)

Offense sells tickets but defense wins championships. Right now the Heat are playing waaaaaaaaaay better defense than the Mavs.

Did you EVEN watch the game? The Mavs held the Heat to like 38% shooting.....The only player in the game that shot remotely well was LBJ....everyone else was off.....Also I saw JJ miss like 4 OPEN jumpers as Peja missing 2 wide open 3's he normally makes....So lets not pretend they are the bad boys on defense....

Lets be honest the Heat D was very good....Mavs D was good...your gonna get open shots no matter how good the D is eventually someone will be open during the game. Now I know JT gonna hit more shots and JJ may hit more shots but Bosh will hit more shots and Wade will play better for the whole game. The thing is I believe the Heat rotate so fast they make the Mavs rush shots....That zone is not gonna work all series long.

And the Mavs arent going to miss open shots all series either with their shooters....

let barea guard james

1. this would entice/dare james to shoot.
2. barea can stay in front of james and james' strength can make any shove/contact against barea look like a foul.
3. if james decides to post up barea (i haven't seen james do a lot of post moves), the zone D could still help.
4. hopefully lbj would percieve this as a slap to his greatness and would go to destroy barea by himself hence stagnating the miami offense.
5. this would put barea in a position to sneak in a concealed uppercut to lbj's nuts or (if etremely luckly) pull a life threatening wedgie.
6. cause wade to be jealous why the mavs did not go to wedgie him causing the heat team to implode.
7. bosh would feel bad about himself and would demand for barea to guard him for his self esteem. bosh would not rebound and in return mavs would UNLEASH barea on bosh on some occasion.

james can shoot, penetrate and facilitate. mavs can live with james being a shooter. there was 1 possession in the game where barea guarded james. james ended up with a miss from an awkward looking shot and almost had an offensive foul. they can run this for several possessions and see what it gives them. its zone D anyway, so no real man to man and barea will still be covered.

if this still fails.....

get delonte and gloria courtside seats.

No matter what they do, they are still going to suck

mavs went scoreless in he-atle and it doomed them.

As an outside observer.....I gotta admit.....that was one of the most boring and un emotional games I've seen

I agree...I think Game 2 will be much better by both teams....

QUOTE(#14):

I watched the game and am worried a bit over what I saw. The Mavs kind of collapsed in the second half. It wasn't a monumental collapse, but it was a collapse nonetheless. They'd better get it together and quick or those JO's in Miami will be hoisting up the championship trophy before we know it.

Well the Heat didnt just luck into the finals...They are a good team....We will see what adjustments come out in game 2...I dont think Terry will score 0 in the second half again....

It should not be a hard trade to complete, Monte helps a lot of teams in the league.
