08:20 AM ET 06.02 | With a new offensive coordinator and a new conference home, the Utes will be worth following early in 2011. As the University of Utah speeds toward its first football season in the Pac-12, quarterback Jordan Wynn's rehabilitation from shoulder surgery remains on the fast track. That's good news for the Utes, whose ability to successfully compete in their new conference could hinge on Wynn's health, given the muddled situation behind him. "I feel great," said Wynn, who underwent surgery on Dec. 13 and missed spring practice. "I'm throwing the ball well, with no pain. I feel like I'll be 100 percent in the next few weeks. The main thing is, it's completely healed. Now, I just have to get my arm back in shape."

I was thinking the same... go UTES

IMO, it would be freaking funny for Utah and Nebraska to walk in and compete for/win CCG in their first years in new conferences.......traditions be damned.

I will say, all the non-BCS BS will get some validity if Utah is competitive in the 12-pack right off the bat.

I think COC is already capable of winning the B1G...Utah winning the PAC12 would be hilarious considering the Quacks are pretty good as well as Stanford... 'It doesnt help the non BCS... UTAH wouldnt be that good if they was still in the MWC....rolles eyes

Yeah, and TCU is going to "suddenly" get good when the hit the Big Least, too, right?

I think they'll be favored right off the bat. Neb is sitting pretty w/ the chiststorm in Columbus. They could make a huge splash early there. Utah will have a harder time w/ Oregon, OSU, and Stanford IMO......the 12 pac should be pretty good 1-8 this year. Arizona and ASU will surprise some folks.

Guys, what am I missing with the COC? Seriously, they didn't strorm through a pretty crappy Big 12 last year. Don't get me wrong, they aren't bad either. They just must have something I am totally unaware of get this much love....or the Big 10 is not what it's hype is.

IMO, the COC are built to compete better in Big 10 (12) than the Big 2+10-2+12. They match up better w/ front 7 and schemes on offense. They won't see the same type of spread/speed offenses against their D.

But, I also think the Big 10 (12) will be way down this year. Other than MSU, all other teams are projected to be behind last year's performance due to replacing key players. Add to that the marquee team (how many CC's at pOSU won) has numerous suspended players, new coach, etc....... I think Neb has a chance to step up and win it all this year. Add to that the pOSU game is in Lincoln (can't wait for that game). COC get that win, gain a lead and hold it for a CC.

Even if they're not, all the non-BCS BS got some validity when Utah beat Alabama 31-17 in the Sugar Bowl. It got some validity when Boise State went on the road and beat VaTech last year. It got some validity when TCU beat Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. I don't think any more validity is needed IMO.

Will be very suprised if Utah doesn't at least go .500 in year 1.

Yah but more is coming when SDSU beats up WSU and MICH....

And then they will stink again in 2012, but hey I will take what I can get.

It was the last game of the worst 2-day stretch in bowl game history from a competition standpoint. The games were either blowouts or just plain boring.

LSU 38.......GaTech 3
Iowa 31.....SCar 10
USC 38... ..PSU 24
UGA 24......MSU 12
VaTech 20..Cinci 7
Utah 31.....'Bama 17

This game was not boring..Geaux Shaq Fu

Boring from the standpoint of ... stocking up on beer chips and other assorted libations then watching as our 2-day bowl watching party turned into a snoozefest.

Plus, those ugly yella & purple uniforms gave me the heaves ....
