Mississippi State gets more cowbell

08:18 AM ET 06.02 | Though the SEC bans artificial noisemakers at games, Mississippi State's cowbells are getting a stay of execution. SEC athletic directors initially voted against continuing the cowbell compromise for another year. But SEC football coaches favored giving Mississippi State another year, and enough athletic directors changed their mind for the presidents to hear the issue Friday for likely approval. "I think the football coaches swayed some of that first vote," Mississippi State athletic director Scott Stricklin said. Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen compared taking away the cowbells with the poisoning of Auburn's oak trees. ... Last year, the SEC ruled cowbells could only be used before games, at halftime, during timeouts and after scores.

They should not be allowed IMO, they are only for distractions, just get better looking cheerleaders with smaller outfits, better all the way around.

The cheering outfits have gotten smaller, and we even have a cheerleader featured in Playboy :)
