08:03 AM ET 06.03 | As happy as Brandon Jacobs is that Plaxico Burress will be released from prison, it's tempered by where he thinks his friend and one-time teammate is playing next. Jacobs, who was Burress' best friend on the Giants, said last night "There is no chance Plaxico Burress is a New York Giant after he comes home. None." Burress, according to Jacobs, has his sights set on signing with the Philadelphia Eagles. "Plax is a Virginia guy, (Eagles quarterback Michael) Vick is a Virginia guy. They sort of went through the same things," Jacobs said. "They've got a lot of dynamic players there. It wouldn't be a bad thing, he thinks, to go down there if you want to win. He wants to go down there, he wants to have a chance to win the Super Bowl right away."

I wish the Giants weren't so quick to release him when he went to jail. I have missed his talents, and don't want to see him in another uniform against Big Blue.

Come to Dallas Bro.

Jacobs sounds like he's his agent.

The US should put a gag order on Jacobs. Every time people are exposed to his interviews, their IQ drops 50 points.

"Jacobs, who was Burress' best friend on the Giants..."

Yeah. Plax would even take a bullet for Brandon, they were so close.

Go where the money is dude!

June 3, 2011  08:25 AM ET

Vick, Burress, they'll be loaded on offense, but what about the D? I wonder if Tank Johnson and Pacman Jones are avaialble?

June 3, 2011  08:25 AM ET

Cleveland would take him as well. We need a big time receiver. If his skills are anywhere near what they were he might be a good risk.

June 3, 2011  08:27 AM ET

Skip "hard Knocks".... with Vick and Buress together rename it "The Longest Yard"

Well why not join him down there, Jacobs! Way to slam your own team like that! lol

Those days are probably long gone, but he was ballin against the Packers in the NFC Championship game the year they won it. I couldn't have done it in that sub-zero temperature!

Lets see you put a gag order on Jim Harbaugh because he talked about Alex Smith a month ago. Why isn't there a gag order on the players talking about their and other players destinations?

This whole lockout makes me want to gag.

agreed

I still say if the Patriots come calling, he ends up in New England.

June 3, 2011  08:52 AM ET

I thought the Giants wanted to bring him back (with less $)?

No, I think Darth Belichick has had his fill of wacko wideouts and divas.

" ... They sort of went through the same things ..."

Yes. Burress was thuggish enough to carry an unlicensed (in NY) gun and shoot himself. Vick was thuggish enough to force dogs to fight, then torture and kill them by drowning and electrocution. Sounds like the "same things" to me.

Wait until the owners see their revenue stream go down by the billions of dollars. Then you'll hear 32 billionaires gagging at once.
