Sabean hints at vengeance on Cousins

08:13 AM ET 06.03 | Buster Posey's season-ending collision with Scott Cousins remains an emotional touchpoint in San Francisco, a view GM Brian Sabean made abundantly clear in a Thursday radio appearance. He called Cousins' targeted collision "malicious" and said he didn't blame Posey for refusing to return an apologetic phone call. "Why not be hard nosed?" Sabean said. "If I never hear from Cousins again or he never plays another game in the big leagues, I think we'll all be happy." Asked later in the interview if perhaps those words were too harsh, Sabean didn't back down. In fact, he left little doubt that the Giants are bent on getting some on-field vengeance. ... "We'll have a long memory. ... I'll put it as politically as I can state it: There's no love lost and there shouldn't be."

What a coward! That was a clean "baseball" play that had unfortunate results. There was no reason for Posey to be blocking the plate like that. Selig better send Sabean to the Minors before someone gets really hurt.

During Monday???s pregame broadcast, TNT basketball analyst and NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley confirmed that there have been only three straight players in the history of the league: himself and two of his former Phoenix Suns teammates.
