09:20 AM ET 06.04 | Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni is entering the final year of his contract while the executive who hired him, Donnie Walsh, is no longer the team president. And with Phil Jackson possibly waiting in the wings to take over after next season, D'Antoni's future with the Knicks is tenuous. D'Antoni's agent, Warren LeGarie, confirmed Friday that his client wants to continue coaching the Knicks. However, that decision may not be D'Antoni's to make.

Let's see. Phil had Michael, then Shaq then Kobe. The Knicks have???? Unless Phil wants to demonstrate that he can actually coach and win without having the best player on the floor, this isn't going to happen.

NY is not Madison Triangle Garden, Bro.

There always seems to be a power struggle in the Knicks front office. Don't think Phil would want to deal with that. And PLEASE, no more Isiah!!!

QUOTE(#5):

Dumbtonie is gone and maybe Phil will be the president or GM. He will not be coaching that's for sure. Traveling is too taxing for Phil and being president or GM allows him to stay in his home state of NY.

I could see that if Phil becomes bored with Montana and Jeannie. But He will not coach.
Plus damn, how can you get bored with Jeannie, She's a hot cougar! lol

Still won't happen. Do you think Jeannie Buss will approve Phil taking the GM post with the Knicks -or- moving back to New York ?

I could see Phil working on the Lakers management more than him going to NY. Even with Jim Buss being not so found of him.

June 4, 2011  11:27 AM ET

Ahahaha, Phil is WAY TOO SMART to put his foot in the snake nest that the Knicks will remain to be until Dolan finally sells the team.

That said, if Dolan wasn't the owner, Phil could turn a great GM, like West and Riley.

she would ride him so hard he wouldn't be able to do anything significant with the remaining portion of his life.
