10:13 AM ET 06.05 | A couple of National League teams are already evaluating Vladimir Guerrero as a trade-deadline pickup. The issue: How much of a liability would he be in the field? Is he a player you could "hide" out there just to take advantage of his bat?

Did said teams see him play the outfield in the World Series?

Evidently not.

I did...

His knees are gone. The only thing he could do in the NL is pinch hit.

Agreed. He will need to stay in the softball league.

I hear the AL has a new contact with PBR. Now if they can just put a keg right behind the catcher the world will be in perfect harmony

Maybe the Boston Globe was looking for more athlete condemning stories. Amazing how short memories are in this country. Vlad's resume' - see 2010 WS. He had a brilliant career but oiling the joints won't help now.

take advantage of that bat man the man can outright hit

Vlad in the NL would be a thousand times more painful than watching him in the World Series last year. I actually felt bad for him.

June 5, 2011  09:35 PM ET

they'll always be somebody looking for a threat off the bench and just put up with the feilding liability - like Colorado does with Jason Giambi

YOU HAVE NO IDEA. I would throw a party. Although knowing our division, with .500 we would end up in 4th.

Apparently we are serious about chasing Fielder, let's hope it's more serious than us chasing Tex a few years ago...

Oh yeah, teams are lining up for an outfielder that can't field.

June 6, 2011  06:56 AM ET

I hear Conseco may be available.

Why would someone take a flier on a guy that has no discipline at the plate, swings at pitches in the dirt and is a liability in the field? Having said that he can still hit in spite of all these flaws

Peter Angelos, the owner of the Orioles is NOT interested in a winning team! Any player who shows a glimmer of talent while playing for the O's will be traded. It's time to dump Angelos, not Guerrero!!
