Demps response to Paul deal? Laughter

08:09 AM ET 06.06 | There are some speculated trades that are just too rich. New Orleans Hornets general manager Dell Demps laughed at the rumored deal of his All-Star point guard, Chris Paul, for Oklahoma City point guard Russell Westbrook. Paul has been the subject of trade rumors since last summer, and Westbrook's name has recently surfaced after the Thunder were eliminated from the playoffs. Demps and Thunder GM Sam Presti worked together with the San Antonio Spurs and remain close, but that doesn't mean a deal is. "Our offices used to be right next to each other, so we still text each other all the time," Demps said. "I can assure you that has not been a conversation we've had."

If paul leaves, consider Basketball in the Big Easy over. he's was the only player worth mentioning on that team.

CP3 to LA...

LOL.... a blind beggar wouldn't make that trade. Even if you threw in a fully furnished house, a fridge loaded with food, and the opportunity to see again.

New Orleans can't and won't ever have the means to assemble a championship caliber roster which means CP3 will leave. That's a fact. Now if Demps is laughing at the offer then yes he's justified to do so but if he's laughing at the notion of trading Paul he's dumb like Cleveland and Toronto used to be.

exactly. they arent going to get a better player if they wait until the deadline. I'm thinking their either gonna end up settling for a lot less than westbrook or straight up losing him to free agency

Maybe the Hornets are holding on to the hope that the next CBA will make it easier for teams to retain their star player
