08:03 AM ET 06.06 | Free-agent fullback Lawrence Vickers took the high road when asked about the Browns' selection of Stanford's Owen Marecic, but that doesn't mean he understands the pick. When the team selected Marecic on the third day of the draft, "I was like, 'Wow,' but at the same time I laughed. I don't know what their plans are," Vickers said. He spoke publicly about his future for the first time in a phone interview. "I'm not disappointed because I understand business totally," Vickers said. "In business, you've got to make decisions that are for the business. If it is the end of me, kudos to Cleveland. I'm not angry. ... Am I mad at Tom [Heckert] or even Mike [Holmgren]? No. I'll see them. I'll shake their hands."

It's about competing for you job, dude. If you're ready to give up now, you've already lost. Beat him on the field.

Wow. This one doesn't tweak my melon.

June 6, 2011  08:12 AM ET

Sounds like Vickers better take full advantage of his free agent status.

June 6, 2011  08:25 AM ET

I'm shaking my head also. Simply, because I couldn't care less about this story.

Why should we care about a guy who's not sure he can make the Browns?

June 6, 2011  08:47 AM ET

let's see, he's pretty much a genius and plays both LB and FB, high character guy, why wouldn'y you want this guy associated with your team?

Because that's not the way they build a roster in Ohio?

Is there a salt shaker in front of Mike like there is in front of Andy in HIS undertaker outfit?

June 6, 2011  09:03 AM ET

Another meaningless Browns thread, This guy is afraid he might have to compete for a spot on the Browns. The tone he's taken suggests he doesn't think its worth the effort.

How about an eating contest Between Holmgren, Ryan and Reid, that might provide some excitement during the Lockout

June 6, 2011  10:06 AM ET

Was thinking WTF is this guy, so I looked up his "stats". Nice..... 5 years in the league and you have 87 rushing yrds with ZERO TD's and you can't imagine why they drafted a replacement? LMAO

WHO?...Lawrence Vickers....really?

June 6, 2011  11:12 AM ET

The Browns make everybody shake their heads when they draft. Nothing new here. Vickers will be the full back, or they can kiss their running game good bye.

You obviously don't know what a fullback's job is. He has to clear the way for the halfback to get yards. And he is one of the best at doing that.

"I'm not disappointed because I understand business totally," Vickers said.
