08:32 AM ET 06.06 | With one effort to alert officials already in the books -- that one to the crease wanderings of Tim Thomas -- Canucks coach Alain Vigneault again took a case to the media over the weekend. The Vancouver Canucks were not happy about the slash from Boston Bruins forward Rich Peverley on the back of Kevin Bieksa's knee in Game 2 on Saturday. Vigneault called the undetected slash a "cheap shot." Bieksa said that he believes in karma and that Peverley better watch out. "Whether it's next year or the year after, he'll get something from somebody else," Bieksa said. "He got me on the back of the knee. Luckily, it's [OK]."

" Bieksa said that he believes in karma and that Peverley better watch out. "Whether it's next year or the year after, he'll get something from somebody else," Bieksa said.

That has to be one of the dumbest threats I've ever heard. I'm sure that Bieksa, being the fine upstanding player that he is never gave anyone a dirty hit like that.

Vigneault ought to be happy with the position the Canucks are in right now. Instead he sounds like he is trying to win "Whiner of the Year".

they are up 2-0, and they continue to whine.

maybe they're up 2-0 BECAUSE they whine. lol. they get together in the roon before the game & have a little cry, it builds their team unity.

What a bunch of crybabies the Canucks are!

June 6, 2011  09:38 AM ET

These types of "cheapshots" happened throughout the first 2 games of the series by both teams. They should stop their whining and accept their undeserved 2-0 lead in the series.

June 6, 2011  09:40 AM ET

They get more annoying as each game goes. They should be happy the guy who won them the game was even playing, instead of being thankful the NHL is to stupid to give a suspension and stay quiet, they have to keep whining.

I love the city, but hate their hockey team.

June 6, 2011  09:43 AM ET

This team has nearly ruined the finals for me. If they were losing, I'd still be up for watching, but all their bushleague antics have turned me off of the whole thing. Its hard, knowing I'm on the last legs of NHL hockey for the year, yet I can't bring myself to watching this team whine its way to a Cup.

And really, a slash to the back of a leg? That's it? Remember the battles we used to see in front of the nets, where the d-man/forwards were chopping each other down, focussing on ankles and back of legs? I bet Bieksa never got involved in that kind of stuff, eh?

Yugh. Cup winners tend to set the trend for upcoming years. If this is where NHL hockey is trending, I'm buying the CHL package next year and moving on from the whiny adult version, like many have done with basketball and the NCAA.

Agreed. He already has the edge. Just shut up and play.

Agreed. They're starting to sound like soccer players. It's a disgrace. Just shut up and play!

At least Peverley didn't bite anyone...

I disagree. The Bruins need to step up and play the best hockey of the year.

I'm beginning to understand why so many people are rooting against the Canucks.
