08:08 AM ET 06.07 | It may seem as if Andre Iguodala's name has been attached to trade speculation for a year now, speculation that may finally bear fruit this offseason. The Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers have discussed a trade that would send the Warriors' leading scorer, Monta Ellis, to the 76ers for Iguodala, according to league sources, including one with direct knowledge of Golden State's thinking. One source stressed that completion of the deal is not imminent but that it has merits for both sides. The Warriors would beef up their perimeter size and defense with Iguodala, who is 6-foot-6 and 207 pounds and can play shooting guard or small forward. Iguodala would be paired with the 6-3, 185-pound Stephen Curry at point guard and 6-9 small forward Dorell Wright.

I like the fact that gs would bring back a guy with legit size for the back courtBut I'm nt sure if this vaults gs int the playoffs , as they still don't have much up frontAs for philly, they get more scoring and allow turner to play more, but I don't k ow if this elevates them past where they currently are now either

GS sticking with Ellis and Curry in the back court doesnt vault them in either....I think it would also let Curry be himself instead of having to defer to Ellis a lot....

Not a good trade at all for GS. They can get somebody for Eliis then an overrated Iggy. They could trade for Bynum instead. Philly has too many players like Ellis already. Lou Williams and Meeks are already like Ellis.

lol...Bynum isnt getting traded for Ellis.....Also Williams and Meeks are both bench guys and are half the player Ellis is....

I thought signing West will mean the end of dumb moves but then they had to prove me wrong. Mark Jackson? Really? Maybe Jerry's gone Springer on them.... what the freak.

QUOTE(#15):

Oh, don't get me wrong....I've been saying for two years that they need to move one of them, that they are too small together. I would just prefer them to try and make a move for a front court player

In retrospect this move balances the perimeter but I can see a lot of scoring droughts.
