Thomas on Pistons' short list

08:05 AM ET 06.08 | New York may be safe. While Knicks fans fret about the possibility of Isiah Thomas returning to New York, the Detroit Pistons are considering Thomas for their vacant head coaching position, according to league sources. Thomas is not the leading candidate, sources say, but he is on Detroit's short list along with Mike Woodson, Kelvin Sampson and his former Pistons teammate Bill Laimbeer. ... Thomas served as New York's president in a controversial reign from 2003-2008 that left him among the most hated sports figures in recent New York history. That is not the case, however, in Detroit, where Thomas led the Pistons to back-to-back championships in 1989 and 1990. Widely regarded as the greatest player in franchise history, the Hall of Famer could return to a club that has suffered through three straight losing seasons.

Joe Dumars is proving what a lucky SOB he was back when he put that good team together. He sucks. He has made astronomically bad decisions and continues to get a free pass. Clock is ticking on Joe D. New owner will want to win and if Isiah is employed by the Pistons and wearing anything but the #11, we are screwed.
One word sums up Joe Dumars..........DARKO. Nuff said.

I don't think he'll be hired. If he is...I will post things like
"He's actually pretty good at developing talent"
AND
"I like the rebuilding job he did in Indiana."

Isiah have a lot of friends within the league and contrary to what some people perceive of Isiah he's very much liked and adored; regardless of what Magic said. He will be back in the league soon; not sure if it will be with Detroit but it will be in some capacity. It still bothers me how an inexperienced coach like Mark Jackson can get a head coaching job and Kareem can't. Maybe I'm judging ability over ability or something unexplainable like that.
