09:37 AM ET 06.11 | When Yankees manager Joe Girardi and Indians manager Manny Acta were screaming at each other on the infield after Fausto Carmona drilled Mark Teixeira last night, Acta recounted the heated exchange. " 'He did.' 'He didn't. He did.' 'He didn't,'" Acta said. "Pretty much." The debate was over whether Carmona, the Indians' erratic right-hander, purposely had plunked Teixeira on the first pitch after Curtis Granderson's second-inning homer during the Yankees' 11-7 win at the Stadium. The episode incited a benches-clearing near-brawl, with Acta and Girardi one spark from becoming the main event.

Indians vs. Yankees? Hasn't that been done before? Don't trust them, my native friends. That island is worth more than a handful of beads.

If anything, he would've beaned Granderson the next time he was up.

Put Girardia and Acta into a steel cage and let them go at, MMA style.

The problem with the DH. All pitchers think they are tough now. It was a cheap shot by the pitcher. Everybody knew it. Pitch too high and behind him. Not how you do it.

We don't play that way on the south side.

You would if your pitchers had enough control to actually do it.

Girardi is starting to feel the heat.
The Yankees have played uninspired and often times BAD fundamental baseball all year. He has a new three year contract, it saves him. They are a reflection of his personality. And now his bullpen is a mess with no name and no talent after Robertson and Rivera. A lineup with Posada, Brett Gardner and Cervelli at 7,8,9, is almost laughable. I just hope they suck it up, make no trades of young talent and replace Swisher, Gardner next year. Maybe the young guys will get their chance.
Girardi is sloooowww to make changes. That is the problem.

Furthermore, Carmona isn't known for his control.

True. But that is the only time he hit the target in his four innings. coincidence?

I'm not saying he didn't do it on purpose, merely chiding wwj for the control comment.

May be his norm to "hit the target" once every four innings.
