LeBron felled by nerves

08:08 AM ET 06.13 | LeBron James will likely shoulder much of the Heat's heat this offseason. Miami lost this final game because of the unaccountable. Nerves. Pressure. Burden. ... There's no way to dance around it this time. There's no way to ignore six consecutive games of this. No way to excuse another passive performance (12 points after a red-hot nine-point start that included a pair of long jumpers). If you needed to see how the pressure of being LeBron James had gotten to him, all you had to do was watch a few possessions of the last few minutes in the second quarter. It was a close game at that point, with the tension in the building tangible. At one point, James drove to within a couple feet of the paint, facing little resistance. And he didn't even look at the basket. He passed it off for a baseline jumper to someone else.

Congrats Mavs. It is a well deserved championship; especially to JKidd who finally got a ring despite the prior two trips with NJ-Nets.

Just listened to the post game interview session with Wade & LeBron... went like this;

Reporters - Lebron, you "blah, blah, blah, blah..."
Lebron - "I... Me... Me... I... Me... I..."
Maybe 7-8 questions and answers like this

Reporter - "Dwayne - did you guys choke?"
Wade - "First, give credit to the Mavericks..."

That exchange says everything that needs to be said about Lebron. He doesn't get it.

Man I watched that interview last night....It did seem like they were putting 100% of the blame on LBJ solely....

My advice to LeBron; ditch his mom, then ditch his girlfriend. Climb to the top of Kilimanjaro and smoke something for a month. Come back and fire Maverick and his previous lifestyle. Drink some tiger blood, train with Rocky Balboa, and shut the freak up all next season.

Were they also coughing this time? Oh wait...those noises were the sounds of someone choking!!!

Unfortunately, NBA histroy is now including the "not 1, not 2, not 3, or 4, or 5". He made his bed and now he's got to sleep in it... bed bugs and all.

As for myself, I will take my talents this summer to recuperate from cheering.

Crazy right?!?!?....LBJ still has some growing up to do. He's a heck of a player, but he really needs to grow up.

True... but he handled it wrong and has the entire playoffs.

As much as the media wants to make it about him - all he had to do was make it about the team.

He never did.

Like D-Wade or not (and - I like the kid - "coughing" not withstanding), he gets it. For the Heat to take the next step, he is going to have to figure out how to get Lebron on board with that mentality.

It's his (Wade's) team. Lebron needs to get on board with that.

June 13, 2011  08:25 AM ET

Let's get real...he was felled by a better TEAM!

True...I just think its funny that everyone always kills James and Bosh for "hooking" up with another superstar but yet Wade did the same thing...He brought those guy THERE....To his city, to his team, to his building....But yet LBJ gets all the blame for "piggy backing" But he played more like Josh Smith than the superstar he is capable of playing like...This Wade-LBJ thing isnt going to work out as well as some ppl predicted....

June 13, 2011  08:29 AM ET

Nerves? Is that what they are calling it now? More like Choke Artist, Quitter, No Show!!! I'd use any of those before I would ever declare that nerves did in LeDonkey. Just as he did with the Cavs, he's done it all over again with the Heat...Mailed it in and walked out on the team. For all the supposed talent that he possesses, it seems that no one ever taught him how to close the the so-called deal.

Too late for that growing up BS... he is who he is... and it ain't pretty.

He's his own #1 fan. He'll point some fingers and throw a few guys under the bus and come back next year the same old same old.

He'll tell Riley all he needs is some quality players around him and things will be fine.

No problem with that. He had been the one making 100% of the guarantees.

You're probably right Ep! He's not a kid anymore, so we can't keep treating him like one. Oh well, he'll continue to lose, until he gets it. You can have all the talent in the world, but until you get "it", it doesn't matter.
