08:08 AM ET 06.14 | A balloon payment of sorts places in jeopardy the Dodgers' ability to meet June 30th payroll obligations. Frank McCourt is expected to meet the Dodgers' payroll Wednesday, according to three people briefed on the matter but not authorized to discuss it. The Dodgers owe about $10 million in payroll Wednesday, according to one of the people, but that figure roughly triples for the June 30 payment as several deferred salaries come due, including more than $8 million to Manny Ramirez. The Dodgers appear to have "no chance" to meet the June 30 payroll without a cash infusion from a new television contract, according to a person familiar with McCourt's finances but not authorized to discuss them.

it has to be only a matter of time. it's pretty funny that Manny will be the one to break McCourt.

Now that my friend is a beautiful irony of it all......Howdy CSF and Glade Glider. Lets try and stay away from the Yankmees thread of Jeter doom.

haha I like how you always try to direct people to your preferred thread of the day. just have to let it play out.

Loria can give him a run for his money. Oh, that's right, McCourt doesn't have any money.

Not directing anyone - just cant stand the NY garbage today. I did watch the game last night because Carassco was pitching a beauty. But the announcers were just not good last night. You all are free to post any where you want. I'm just trackin what ever thread is doing "second" best because we always seem to gravitate to the one team most of us hate. Now that is odd.

I'm just kidding. A Yankees or RS thread always seems to draw the most comments, whether they're full of ire or praise.

Thats true - just guess I got an overdose last night - but the Indians did make it worthwhile.

I was fishing so I missed the game. From the looks of the box score, it was a good one.

I don't know, there are some pretty bad teams out there...

True - but McCourt's mis management goes beyond on the fieled talent. He's bankrupted a team that in the past has been so profitable they almost printed money. These guys draw 3 MM a year easy.

QUOTE(#19):

It was - Tex gave one drive a ride and they caught it about 3 feet from the fence. They were cheering when he hit it - then when it was caught - a hoover couldn't have made a better sucking sound as all the excitement was sucked out of the stadium... Did my heart good.

I was glad to see that result. I was watching the Rays. They got hosed by the umps last night. Detroit's one run in regular innings was a double that actually landed foul. It kicked dirt into the chalk causing a puff, so the ump was fooled. But the awful call was later. Rays had a running trying to score on a fly. The catcher missed the tag by about a foot. The runner got around his foot and literally had his foot on the plate when he was tagged. He was called out. Just terrible. If the ump doesn't screw them, they win 2-1 in 9.
