N.C. State's new QB more talented than Matt Ryan

08:16 AM ET 06.14 | The S.S. Wilson has sailed, leaving the spotlight shining bright on Mike Glennon. For a guy who hasn't made his first collegiate start yet, Glennon sure has garnered plenty of attention. He arrived on campus as the No. 3 pro-style quarterback in his recruiting class, one spot ahead of presumptive 2012 No. 1 overall draft pick Andrew Luck. ... If that weren't enough, consider this recent comment from North Carolina State coach Tom O'Brien explaining his decision. "He's as talented as any quarterback that I've had," said O'Brien, who coached at Boston College from 1997-2006. "All those guys at BC, he's got as much or more talent as all of them." One of those quarterbacks at BC, you might recall, was Atlanta Falcons star Matt Ryan.

I'm sure he'll look like Matt Ryan against the likes of Liberty, Wake Forest, South Alabama, Central Michigan and Cincinnati.

If you're betting on a kid whom has never played a down in D-1 football, that's a foolish bet. The difference in HS and college FB is HUGE. Good luck, NC State, but don't set those expectations too high & be ready for some growing pains.

See post #1 ... 1st half of the season he gets to play advanced HS ball before making the big transition.

This is the BCS logic that FJJ loves so much....you could just as easily find one of the many top 5 QB prospects that flopped (TP, Bohmar, Perreiliux) and compare him to them, but they went after a proven NFL guy and the guy that's gonna win the Heisman. Way to set the bar high, NCS.

QUOTE(#10):

No he wasn't. He clarified by saying what he meant was that by the time Lechoke retires he has the ability to be greater than Jordan.

LeChoke has no intermediate game - he can shoot 3's or drive the lane but can't hit a 12-15 foot jumper to save his life. No way does he have the ability to be greater than Jordan until he dedicates himself to improving every aspect of his game.

Wait a minute. I think Texas could have beaten Skyline last year. It would have been close but they could have done it. Not so sure about Euless Trinity though. Those guys are maulers.

Watched Euless Trinity play Shiloh Christian last year in Jerry World......not sure they couldn't have competed in the CFB last year. NO DOUBT the best HS team I have ever seen. WTH they do to get ikds that big and that gifted in one hogh school? Absolutely amazing.......

I know.....just thought I would throw that out there to stir the pot a little.....haven't had a pOSU thread in a couple of days!
