08:13 AM ET 06.15 | It rained in Minneapolis Tuesday night, then it poured. This was supposed to be the week the Twins finally got healthy, and now Justin Morneau has landed on the disabled list, too. Morneau has a strained left wrist, which will be immobilized in a cast for 10 days, general manager Bill Smith said after Tuesday's game against the White Sox was postponed because of rain. ... It's possible the Twins will activate Tsuyoshi Nishioka and Glen Perkins from the DL, with Joe Mauer (bilateral leg weakness) possibly returning Friday, and others such as Denard Span (concussion), Jason Kubel (sprained left foot) and Jim Thome (strained quad) not far behind. Still, without Morneau, the Twins will continue to play at less than full strength.

This guy used to be great. Now...

I feel awful for the Twins and their fans, I really do. This team was set for a good stretch of playoff appearances, and the luck their stars have had is just awful.

bilateral leg weakness, what the hell is that?

and that is a slew of injuries. Too bad but it is a part of the game.

Should have traded Morneau and Mauer a few years ago and retooled. By the time their young guys got good, their stars got old...

Mauer isn't old, he's just 28. So even during the 2015 season, he will be 32, still not old.

What has happened to Morneau is a shame. He was such a very good hitter. Close to a .900 OPS over a 5 year period. And was averaging around 120 RBI per 162 games. Who knows if he ever comes back to anywhere close to that again. Or if he can stay healthy.

Just proves how serious concussions can be. Morneau, Bay and now Roberts all have serious post concussion issues.

The current batting helmets can only withstand a mid 70's pitch, & with everyone throwing mid 90s now that seems redundant. MLB needs to enforce better helmets to protect hitters.

This guy needs a new head. Mauer needs new legs like Lieutenant Dan.
