08:20 AM ET 06.15 | The future of the Flyers could take shape this week, as goalie Ilya Bryzgalov will reportedly be introduced to several team officials Thursday. Bryzgalov and his agent, Ritch Winter, will arrive in Philadelphia late Wednesday night and will meet with general manager Paul Holmgren, coach Peter Laviolette and goalie coach Jeff Reese, among others, the next day. "We think it's important that he talks with Jeff Reese," Holmgren said on Tuesday. The Flyers acquired the rights to Bryzgalov last week, sending minor-league winger/enforcer Matt Clackson and a third-round pick in 2012 to Phoenix. The Coyotes will also get a conditional pick if Bryzgalov signs with the Flyers.

Just don't let him near any Flyers Fans.

his salary is gonna kill the Flyers.....NHL already looking at another lockout in near future

Could Bryzgalov have an agent with a better name?

It's too bad Ritch Winter is always followed by his accountant "Poor Spring."

Meeting Set?
SHOCKING DEVELOPMENT!
I can't wait to find out if they were able to decern if he could roll an acceptable snowball.
Jeez.

The Flyers should just wait and try to aquire Luongo. Win or lose he needs to get out of Vancouver and go somewhere that would appreciate having a top goalie

I can't put my finger on whether this is an attempt at satire or what. With all the newbies posting that Luongo is a 'fundamentally sound' and 'technical' goalie (all people that I presume have never played a minute in nets in their lives), it's hard to tell.

I chalked it up to a first comment misfire.

I for one would love to see Bobby Lou in Philadelphia.

I'm sure you would. Unfortunately for you, the only way he is in Philly is if the Canucks are in town for a game.

Don't matter. He'll be hurt before you know it. Isn't that what's supposed to happen to goalies in Philly?

is he the answer here?????

he very well could be. As gm of the flyers I would jump on him before some of the lesser known and less certain options, Bernier, Schneider, one of the Washington trio, Rask (maybe)

It's Dewey, Cheatham and Howe...

I know I think so.

A good goalie allows your D to be more aggressive pushing forward, because more of their mistakes will be covered.

It doesn't matter. I side with Shakespeare on this: "First, we kill all the lawyers..."

I was being serious. He is the whipping boy in Vancouver no matter what he does and a team like Philly if they moved Carter and a smaller piece would be a great fit.

June 15, 2011  02:29 PM ET

We know you are being serious. Admitting it doesn't help your case ;)

As a Flyers fan, I can tell you that Luongo would not be a great fit here.

Or anywhere else for that matter. A huge contract and a reputation for choking when the stakes get high pretty much makes you persona non grata everywhere they play hockey.
