08:13 AM ET 06.17 | Consider Brian Cashman ready and willing to deal. Cashman has put out the word to his counterparts. "I've told everybody out there that I'm up for the incremental upgrades or the significant upgrades," the GM said before the Yankees' 3-2, 12-inning win over the Rangers Thursday at Yankee Stadium. "As you see by the moves we're making, they're the incremental upgrades right now." The Yankees are down to 10 on the DL because reliever Amauri Sanit was released to make room on the 40-man roster for 32-year-old righty Brian Gordon, whom Cashman signed to start Thursday in place of Bartolo Colon, after Gordon opted out with the Phillies' Triple A Lehigh Valley team. ... "We've got a good team," Cashman said. "But we're wounded in some aspects of it right now."

I don't think so. He is looking to trade, and maybe find a buyer for Swisher ( in his last year contract and not coming back ), and maybe Nova. I would not rule out Gardener on the block either.

not even the X Games would buy Swisher, he's too Xtreme

It all depends on what Cashman really is willing to give up. I would think it would take significant prospects more than someone like Swisher who would be a free agent after this season anyway.

Plus, Swisher is pretty lame.

Cashman has no intention of moving what he thinks are his best prospects. I really believe that. And he should not. Remember, he never wanted Sorryassano to begin with.
His prospect chips are at Scranton that he would move. 3B Brandon Laird ( with Arod no room at the Inn ) and 1B Jorge Vazquez with his 20 homeruns and Texiera in front of him. Add in CF Justin Maxwell doing great down there but Granderson in front of him, and those are the prospects he would move.

Which isn't going to bring a top flight player in return. Boston had to give up absolute top level prospects to get A-Gon and the type of pitcher that New York is looking for isn't going to come cheap. Those sorts of prospects don't get you a Felix Hernandez or that sort of pitcher.

We're always looking to put the best team on the field that we can. Nothing new about that.

There is no player of that kind of quality out there to be had. There is no A-Gon level player out there. I do not see this, and never did, as a Yankee year anyways. And I do not believe Cashman does either ( though he can never say it ).
Upgrades at RF and LF are what the Yankees are looking for. Pitching that is quality is not to be had during this part of the season. Maybe never. CJ Wilson is FA after this year.
Just what I think.
