08:13 AM ET 06.18 | After Thursday's parade and championship festivities, almost every member of the Dallas Mavericks' roster will be going on vacation. That includes Tyson Chandler, who enters the free agent waters after winning his first NBA title in his first season with the team. Even though Chandler's talked all season about how much he's enjoyed playing with Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, and the rest of the veteran squad, he remained diplomatic when asked by the "Ben and Skin Show" (KESN-FM) about the possibility of him returning next year. "Honestly, at this point, I'll let my agent and the management hash everything out," Chanlder told the Ben and Skin Show. "I try not to get involved with it, because then it becomes personal. I honestly try to stay out of it as much as possible and then at the last minute, when I need to make decisions, I'll come in and me and my agent will sit down."

What do you expect a free agent to say? Yes I want to stay and take a pay cut?

June 18, 2011  08:50 AM ET

Allot depend on the new CBA agreement ...

will Cuban be able to spend $88+m on the Mavs next season, or will he be limited by the NBA, who knows ....

even in small market Milwaukee, Senator Herb Kohl, has been willing to go up to the Luxury tax limit of $72m, but next year less Redd - Cap is down to $50.6m, with only Luc Mbah a Moute, a RFA that the Bucks need back.

Exactly!!!

Dude understands the business side of this thing as well as most.

That said - he is Numero Uno priority for Cubes this off season. And Cubes is a pretty sharp businessman himself.

Right on bro. The nba is a biz and Tyson is handling his like he's suppose to. The interns are slacking again.

Lebron hasn't opened his mouth lately for the interns.

hopefully he comes back in a mavs uniform but I don't want the mavs to overpay either. i think cuban is trying to put the mavs in position to go after Howard / any other upcoming elite FA.

i have to say i am very impressed w/ chandler. not letting personal feelings get in the way of business. didn't get tangled w/ the perkins crap and not letting emotions run his business decisions as a FA.

You had one. Then you gave him away, and possibly this year's NBA title along with him, for a couple of ordinary players. If your roster is that old, you can't be making decisions "for the future" if you're a title contender.

Are they really at $88 million? Thats like a $25 million luxury tax charge, right? If that is true, there isn't anyone who can say Cuban hasn't done everything in his power to win.
