08:58 AM ET 06.18 | What many people -- in particular, the Miami Heat -- don't know is just how lousy Dirk Nowitzki felt when he was on the court but unable to play with any gusto during Game 4 of the Finals. "He was the best decoy in NBA Finals history," says Holger Geschwindner, Nowitzki's mentor for the last 16 years. "He couldn't even walk around for very long. When he tried to drive, he died on the first step." That's the way it is when you have a sinus infection and fever well over 100 degrees, and you don't feel like doing anything, much less trying to go to work when your job is to physically outperform younger, stronger, healthier specimens.

Dirk did work in the Finals so glad he helped Brendan Haywood get another belt for the UNC family.

He was sick.....You know the Heat have to try to come up with any excuse they can why they got a **** kicking....

Gimme a break! Weve had people play in the SB on broken limbs before. Sinus infection, what a joke. Non story here.

No excuses if you're on the court, Bro.

This story has been blown up way too much. It wasn't such a deal when Jordan played with a fever. Why should it be now?
And Wade & James making jokes about it ... win a championship first, because they're the joke.
Right now, they're the biggest LOOSERS

QUOTE(#19):

That's because while Dirk was battling a sinus infection, Lebron was battling a heart infection.

Lebron was injured too bro, tough to play with a shattered confidence and a deeply bruised ego.

He has no heart...

He may be the most talented man in the NBA Sd, but the man is no Mj/Kobe/td. Lebrons legacy so far is quitness and disappearing on big stages for no reason.
