09:16 AM ET 06.18 | Michigan is one of only three Big Ten schools without a mascot roaming its athletic events, but athletic director Dave Brandon has put some thought into changing that. In an article on Michigan Today, an online newsletter for Michigan alumni, Brandon says a mascot can help lure the next generation of Wolverine fans.

More important question. Will a mascot really be effective in luring the next generation of Wolverine fans? Like a tree inspires people to go to Stanford or a rust colored cow encourages people to head to Austin?

Good question that requires deep thinking?

...and most of us on FN are incapable of thinking period, much less deeply...

...so responses will be limited.

Want to lure the next generation of fans do ya? First you have to beat all DivII and DivIII opponents that you schedule and second you must beat TOSU.Do that and they will come.

So, you are saying that Ms. Upton in a short outfit as their mascot would not be a help?

It would help...but you can only beat that beaver for so long before it looks and smells like a wolverine! Should I talk about my Bucknuts?
