06:40 AM ET 06.19 | The Knicks have had preliminary discussions with the Minnesota Timberwolves about a trade for point guard Jonny Flynn. No formal deal is in place, but the Knicks are debating whether Flynn, the sixth overall pick of the 2009 draft would be a viable option to back up Chauncey Billups for at least one season.

Plus he is a scoring point guard...I mean how is Anthony and Amare going to score if they cant get the ball....

Am hearing the trade is Douglas for Flynn straight up...

Would not work .... Douglas $1.071m for Flynn $3.192m ...

NY would need to add Balkman $1.675m to make the Deal work ...

or I guess NY could send Rautins, Walker, and $3m to make the Deal work ...

the $3m for Minny can Buyout a player if need be ...

The heck with getting a backup. Ship Billips out to Orlando for Nelson even if that means taking on agent 0 who would be Nelson's backup. - Another option would be to make a play for prying JJ.B away from the Mav.

makes sense so Isiah doesn't have his fingerprints on this one

QUOTE(#9):

I mean 2-3 for one and that one is flynn? Wtf?Although dumping balkman would be a positive

And Minny already has 12 players counting Flynn under contact next season, and add RUBIO, #2 pick, #20 Grizzlies pick from the Jazz for Jefferson ... so Minny needs less not more players ...

Terrible Trade.
Flynn is a bust.
Tony is a 3-point threat at all times, and is an above average defender.

Who is running the show in NYC now that Donnie is out??

if the trade is straight up you do it right away. I really like Douglas, but he just is not a PG and the knicks will need a quality backup and see if Flynn can take over for Billups after next year.
