07:51 AM ET 06.19 | The Golden State Warriors had gone after mostly midlevel players in their attempts to trade guard Monta Ellis. But with everyone vying for the attention of Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard these days, they decided to take a shot at the most sought after big man in the NBA, according to a tweet from Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress. "The Dwight Howard sweepstakes have begun. Golden State offered Monta Ellis, Andris Biedrins and Ekpe Udoh. Unlikely that'll get it done," Givony tweeted Saturday.

I had to LMAO off on this.
Ellis,Biendries,Udoh for Howard was the deal.
One NBA gm said"That's a trade he would receive in his fantasy football league".
LMAO!
No way the magic do this.
Biendris is no Brook Lopez, Marc Gasol or Cousins.
If he were as good as any of those 3 guys them maybe.

LOL.....REALLY?

Those 3 for Howard?

I think "Unlikely" is being kind.

Dwight - Golden St. is basketball purgatory. Get with some winners and be a Laker bro. Visit Staples and look up. You want your name up there with Wilt or Joe Barry Carroll?

June 19, 2011  08:43 AM ET

Wow Monta Ellis for Dwight Howard. Ellis is Iverson-lite. All he can do is score and nothing else. Never trade your big for smalls.

good for GS to even show signs of intelligence (finally)
clearly the trade is ridiculous, but we now know ellis is officially on the market

Thanks, I needed a good morning laugh. Happy Farthers Day to all Dads.

I think ellis has good value. Problem though is they have alot of $ tied up in lee and biedrins (how bad is that lee contract looking now)

Who do you think has more value (or would bring more value back) curry or ellis?

June 19, 2011  09:47 AM ET

howard is going to be a laker..all leads going to it..no other team has better offer than bynum...memphis can offer marc w/ rudy or zbo...

June 19, 2011  09:54 AM ET

had to check the calendar....thought it might be the 1st of April

Is bynum though really ?
he plays 2/3 of the year...is still immature, they couldn't win with dwight and that roster- why would they with bynum?
And most of all...he has one year and team option left....so are you prepared to resign him to another monster contract$?

June 19, 2011  10:29 AM ET

Howard is not gettable for GS. Instead try Ellis/Beidris for Joe Johnson/hinrinch or Williams

Honestly... I might go with Curry at this point of his career.

But - do the Warriors really want to do THAT???
