Next stop Trenton: Hughes' fastball humming

08:13 AM ET 06.20 | A week after hitting the 90s in Florida, Phil Hughes is keeping an encouraging pace. Hughes went 4 1/3 innings, giving up one run on three hits with seven strikeouts, in Sunday night's rehab appearance for the Staten Island Yankees. But the most important number of the night was 93. Struggling all year with his velocity, Hughes fired fastballs that consistently clocked in at 93 mph. That was encouraging to the Yankees' right-hander, who has been out since April 15 due to a dead arm and inflammation in his pitching shoulder. "Sometimes it's tough when you haven't thrown in a while. I was worried my command might be off a bit," said Hughes. ... Hughes said he plans to start for Double A Trenton in five days and is eager to prove to the Yankees, as well as himself, that he's capable of getting back to the Bronx soon.

Woohoo look who's #1.

Hopefully Hughes will come back to the Yankees in September for a push for #28. Cashman needs to get some pitching help asap.

Not so sure about that. The bullpen has done a remarkable job, except Girardi keeps using robertson too much. Nothing new there.
If Colon comes back as he was and soriano? Would leave it alone. Not sure it is broken, so be careful about fixing it.

Howdy clem. Hope you had a good time yesterday and didn't work too hard!

Yesterday was nice. Woke up twice last night to throw up. Not sure why. Didn't drink too much. Kind of going slow here at work today.

Throw Nova and his " batters hit .220 the first time around the lineup, .286 the second and .330 the third time they see my stuff ) in the bullpen where he belongs. Give that spot to Noesi.
Problem solved. And ya just got to root for a guy like Jordan.
