Wolves want Pau in Minnesota

08:04 AM ET 06.21 | Considered a weaker draft in terms of players, this year's talent grab won't suffer from big names in trade talks. Pau Gasol, Andre Iguodala, Monta Ellis, Chris Kaman, Jonny Flynn and Kevin Love are just a few of the names that have been mentioned. At least give David Kahn credit for being aggressive. He got Rubio when no one ever thought he would. Now, he's shopping the second pick in the draft and there also appears to be some truth to the rumor that Kevin Love could be had for the right cost. Kahn is interested in teaming Rubio with another Spaniard, Pau Gasol, and there are rumors a proposed trade had Love and the second pick in the draft going to L.A. for Gasol. We have a hard time believing that. But could the two teams meet somewhere in-between?

Poor Pau. I hope he doesn't end up in Minnesota.

First Rubio, now Pau. That's a helluva Spanish flies. Spain is a basketball powerhouse and will need both to be playing a lot of international games so if y're Kahn why put your eggs in Spain's basket?

as would i. makes so much sense for the lakers, love is less ball demanding than gasol and he would spread the floor. plus, some of the trash the lakers would have to take on to make the salaries work would actually help their bench and 3 point shooting. add johnny flynn and you have a point guard. add derrick williams with the second pick and you also have a small forward. great deal for lakers if they can make it happen

theres no way LA getting the bite of this trade, if they do that then its clearly theyre not on reloading mode but rather on "rebuilding mode" the best trade for me is getting iguadala/lou williams from 76ers for bynum+odom or artest + picks either way for howard...

First off Pau for Love is not a straight up deal.

Love is younger and has more upside.

So, the T-Wolves would have to get more than Gasol.

I really think LA is going to stand pat, and use their mid-level to get another Point Guard.

We shall see.

This story sounds more like Spain's "Running of the Bull Spitz"....

Trade rules are contract value for contract value. Pau is making more, therefore Minny would have to give up more to get him. Hence why they could package the second pick.

And to the person who recommended trading Bynum, it isn't going to happen. Other than Kobe, the Buss's have been the most adamant about not trading him.

That is a great trade for the lakers...imo ...gasol quite in the playoffs, and The LA fans can probably expect more Gasol drama , with Kobe and his wife, if he is on the roster next year

I agree but what do LA expect in Love. I don't think he's any tougher than Pau. They're both soft with Love being less experienced... LA is done. Unless Kobe comes off the bench and allow the bigs to carry the offense there will be pestilence and turbulence in their locker room. Call them the 'waiting to explode' team.
