Roethlisberger pushing for Plax?

08:00 AM ET 06.22 | After choosing to keep Steelers workouts quiet, Ben Roethlisberger made headlines Tuesday. Roethlisberger has talked in the past about how a tall wide receiver would add another dimension to the passing game. Tuesday, Roethlisberger stopped just short of lobbying for Plaxico Burress' return to Pittsburgh. "I've talked to Plax a number of times in the last couple of weeks," Roethlisberger said. "I told him, 'Hey, if you came back here that would be awesome, but I'm just happy to see you playing again' because he's a good guy." The two were teammates for one season, and the Steelers have not had a wide receiver that is rangy and sure-handed since Burress signed with the New York Giants in 2005.

Plax is bad for you. On the field, in the club and in your mouth.

They could both be had for cheap, though. I can't see either getting much more than the veterans minimum. And they would probably be happy to get that right about now.

Give the guy a shot at minimum salary with incentives. What can you lose? It's not like the guy did anything horrible like Vick did.

The Steelers didn't resign him the first time around because of his off field behavior. Would they really even condider it now that he is fresh out of prison? It's not like the Steelers are in desperate need at the position. They went to the SB last year and Hines can now do dips and twirls through the secondary.
