08:00 AM ET 06.22 | After choosing to keep Steelers workouts quiet, Ben Roethlisberger made headlines Tuesday. Roethlisberger has talked in the past about how a tall wide receiver would add another dimension to the passing game. Tuesday, Roethlisberger stopped just short of lobbying for Plaxico Burress' return to Pittsburgh. "I've talked to Plax a number of times in the last couple of weeks," Roethlisberger said. "I told him, 'Hey, if you came back here that would be awesome, but I'm just happy to see you playing again' because he's a good guy." The two were teammates for one season, and the Steelers have not had a wide receiver that is rangy and sure-handed since Burress signed with the New York Giants in 2005.

Sounds like an Oral B commercial....

Plax is bad for you. On the field, in the club and in your mouth.

I would welcome Plax back to the black and gold.

Plax served jail time and that would take the heat from Ben.

Don't want him, don't need him, he would be better than Tiki though....

Plax, Tiki, Osi... Where do they get these names?

"but I'm just happy to see you playing again' "

...did I miss something? Did BEN miss something?

June 22, 2011  08:31 AM ET

Uh oh... I know what this means..

Two days from now we see a Heinz Ward thread, on how he feels "jaded".

They could both be had for cheap, though. I can't see either getting much more than the veterans minimum. And they would probably be happy to get that right about now.

"1001 Names for Dogs"

I am sure that he is currently working on that.

Give the guy a shot at minimum salary with incentives. What can you lose? It's not like the guy did anything horrible like Vick did.

June 22, 2011  08:55 AM ET

I wish I had a job where I could just write stupid articles like this...as if the Steelers will take that thug back!?!?!?

Oh goodie, they could go pick up 16 year old girls together.

The Steelers didn't resign him the first time around because of his off field behavior. Would they really even condider it now that he is fresh out of prison? It's not like the Steelers are in desperate need at the position. They went to the SB last year and Hines can now do dips and twirls through the secondary.
