08:09 AM ET 06.23 | Add Los Angeles to a number of teams at least considering a big move at the draft. The Lakers tried to move up in Thursday's NBA draft by offering forward Lamar Odom to Minnesota for the Timberwolves' No. 2 overall pick, but Minnesota turned them down, according to two NBA officials who were not authorized to speak publicly about the trade talks. The Lakers wanted to use the No. 2 pick to select Arizona's forward Derrick Williams, the officials said. However, Minnesota didn't want Odom, the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year last season, because the Timberwolves have Kevin Love at power forward and see him as part of the franchise's cornerstone.

It will be really suspicious if the Lakers can trade into the top three. It will be more NBA welfare for the Lakers and Celtics.

Moving Lamar isn't the answer. I'm not sure why he's the guy being shopped, but it doesn't make much sense. He's a key part of the nucleus and does so many things for them and creates mismatches with his ability to do so many things that moving him now is a mistake. Jim Buss is an idiot.

I don't think Khloe likes cold weather. Try again.

Khloe has enough body heat to stay warm, keeping it real.

Don't get why people are trying to trade proven players for a shot at an extremelly weak draft.

I completely agree.

I can see a trade where Odom may be involved. I envision the Lakers using Ebanks a lot next season even with Odom or Iggy if that trade happens. Ebanks with time on the floor can be the next something in the league; he's that good. Something is going to happen with the Lakers due to the coach they hired. All the players on the Lakers were brought in th fit Phil Jackson's system now there's a new system, a new style. Besides, most of the contending teams in the west are built to beat the Lakers with identical front line players. So there have to be change to offset the balance and not be as predictable.

Telling you guys...owners are dumping salary...I have not seen a draft in many years with this many big names floating around as trade fodder.

And if you look at all of them, they all have big contracts.

If you are a Phoenix and can dump an aging Nash for a high Round 1 pick, you save at least 12-13m just this year alone and get your team in better cap room while getting a rookie who is going to be a low cost/high performance guy on the court.

I am a Heat fan and it is not looking good for many teams going forward...LA, Mavs and about 15 other teams that are already over the cap.

The Lamar to the Sixers should be the story here... FN is always a day late on stories...
