Miami coach losing players

Dolphins coach Cam Cameron is on the brink of losing his locker room as at least two veteran players have even begun to question the drive of other players on the team. ''It definitely doesn't seem like we're all after the same thing,'' Keith Traylor said, while Vonnie Holliday noted that, ``it felt like the wheels fell off the wagon.'' In the meantime, Cameron has yet to acknowledge any of the same sentiment. He remained hopeful, even optimistic, that he would keep his team fighting for a victory rather than fighting one another. Asked specifically about Traylor's comments, Cameron said he doesn't ``put too much into it.'' ''Sometimes, especially after a game, after a disappointing loss, our emotions can get the best of us,'' Cameron said. ``I try not to read too much into that stuff.''

From the beginning Cam was set to fail. His first big moment as coach? Telling the assembled fans who their 9th pick was...how that went over pretty much sums up this season.

Would winning a game change anything at this point? They are still the worst team in the league.

you have to go 0-12 before you start worrying about losing the players? interesting..

He is a solid college coach... end of story. Sometimes the flashy job and great title does not always work out. Sad lesson but one he will never forget.

The mess started when Saban bolted... it will take awhile to clean it all up.

True...He saw the writing on the wall..I am sure he played a small role in the lack of develoment but I am sure even with his woes at bama... he is relieved.

More importantly, he losing games.....

December 4, 2007  09:35 AM ET

He does not seem like "Head Coach" material and he inherited a crummy team.....not a good mix to start off a season.

I agree

"I try not to read too much into this stuff." That's the problem. He hasn't read a playbook, or the writing on the wall either.

Maybe he's too busy "scouting" the next opponent. You know, I'm not a millionaire like Wayne "I have the Grand Canyon on My Face" Huizenga, but I think most teams actually employ people now to focus on scouting games and sheet

Cameron wasn't even a "solid" head coach in college. At Indiana, he was 18-37.

He's simply not cut out to be a head coach. He shows no emotion or reaction on the sideline. He has the same stupid blank stare on his face the entire game. The head coach of a bad team needs to be in the players' faces when they make mistakes. He needs to lift them when they have given up on a game. He needs to praise them when they make a good play.

Cameron has had timeout problems, made questionable fourth down decisions, and made some terrible personel moves this offseason. These are things that he can perhaps (added emphasis on "perhaps") improve upon. However, it is hard to improve upon one's leadership characteristics. I'm afraid Cameron will never become a good leader. Leaders are born.

The fins are sad they shouldn't put threads on them they have suffered enough.

December 4, 2007  10:26 AM ET

This is news or rumor?

December 4, 2007  10:38 AM ET

Cameron may or may not be a totally inept coach, he will likely be dismissed from Miami before he can prove himself. The front office has botched the roster so badly that he didn't have a chance to win from the start. It is entirely possible that he completely sucks as an HC, but in his defense you can't polish a turd.

I think Fannation should add a 3rd category..Truth...Rumor...and SHEEET
