Rockets chasing Warriors big man

09:02 AM ET 06.26 | Was able to confirm reports by the Houston Chronicle that the Rockets are indeed interested in acquiring Warriors center Andris Biedrins. Houston, with Yao Ming and Chuck Hayes as their expected center options next season, are in need of a big man since Yao's ability to play again is still suspect and Chuck Hayes, while valiant and completely useful, is probably not a starting center on a playoff team. For Warriors fans, who have been hoping for Biedrins??? departure for some time, that means the Warriors just may be able to move Biedrins. That was once thought to be impossible considering the drastic decline in his production and the three years, $27 million he has left on his contract. But apparently, Houston is a taker.

What would the Warriors want from Houston? The Rockets and Warriors both have a ton of perimeter players and they both need frontcourt help. I don't think Houston has cap room to just take Biedrins salary and not have to send back comparable salaries to GSW do they?

Certainly not. My point is that some Europeans were and are clearly worth their NBA dollars.

He hasn't done that in GS so why would he do that in Houston? Not worth it for the money. This guy is too skinny and can't guard a center. Not worth it.

i dont know whats going on with these franchises nowadays. the lakers willing to give odom up for peanuts, spurs trading george hill for an unknown rookie, now this? why? i havent figured out the rockets since they traded battier.

But let's add up all the factors here....Lowry can make plays and score, Kevin Martin is the face of the franchise player,Buddinger is a scorer,Scola is a double double guy and at center they have Hayes,Hill and an injured Yao.....They are going after what they need. They don't need a scorer at center just a guy with size that can rebound, block shots and finish around the rim.

they should trade with Mavs. Brandon for J Flynn and Jordan Hill . Brandon is a better overall center than Andris but cheaper. But ofcourse after chandler resigns with Mavs. Brandon is little too expensive for a backup but he is easily a starter for other teams.

Dallas gets a backup PG in Flynn and future FP in Hill.
