09:07 AM ET 06.26 | Brandon Knight adds to the logjam in the backcourt with Richard Hamilton, Ben Gordon, Rodney Stuckey and Will Bynum. At times it seemed none was happy with his role or minutes, and the addition of Knight would only seem to complicate matters. However, it gives the Pistons some flexibility to decide what to do with those players, and Dumars made a point to say he'll continue to add young talent It wasn't a shot at Hamilton per se, but it's no secret Dumars would love to move the Pistons' all-time leading playoff scorer, who's on the downside of his career. The Pistons won't give him away, but they are shopping him.

please send some to the lakers...we can send ebanks or caracter they are big and lot of potential...

With Hamilton's age and the money left on his contract what is Dumars expecting exactly? Nobody is going to give up a potentially high draft pick for him. For teams with cap room it would be more than beyond stupid take on his $25 million contract over the next two years. Joe just do everybody involved a favor and buy him out and just move on.

This is not news. Everyone knows about this all ready. Joe wants a lot in return for Rip. And Rip only wants to go to a team that can win a title.

June 26, 2011  10:45 AM ET

At this point...might as well wait one more year. With a lockout looming, the next time we see NBA basketball, Rip Hamilton may be an expiring contract.

ABOUT TIME!! but where? i bet in boston

June 26, 2011  11:01 AM ET

If he wants to win a title next year then he needs to demand a trade to Dallas.

June 26, 2011  11:06 AM ET

Funny ... I didn't see any potential suitors names in the article ;)

More money! The fans should ask for a refund the way he has played the past couple of years.

Rip doesn't want more money. He just wants to play good, quality basketball and starter minutes for a relevant team.

2 for 1 Detroit gets Khloe and Lamar

June 26, 2011  12:43 PM ET

they won't get much for him... and that contract... forget it...

Rip has become a cancer. We tried to dump him for a ham sandwich from Cleveland but he nixed the trade. He would rather sit on the bench, cashing checks and chirping in the ear of any young guard on the team. He won,t take a reduced buyout. A trade for Milsap makes sense, which is why it won't happen. Dump him, pay him and move on.

Yup, I agree. I hope he ends up on miami and toils with the rest of the POS's there.

Dump Rip, give him away if you have to do it, he is a locker room cancer. He was silly to not take the buyout that the Pistons were willing to give him and now he is just squatting in Detroit and taking money for nothing in return. I am sure there are atleast one or two playoff teams that could use him for a few years. The Pistons need to regroup with the nice core they have with Daye, Stuckey, B Knight, Monroe. Try to get Tayshun and Gordon and probably Villaneuava out of the way.
