Rays would love move to NL

09:25 AM ET 06.26 | More than any other team, the Tampa Bay Rays are huge fans of radical realignment. They would volunteer if MLB was looking for a team to move from the AL to the NL (rather than the other way around). Team President Matt Silverman says "it can't get any worse" for the Rays than competing against the Yankees and Boston Red Sox in the AL East.

Although Joe Maddon vehemently opposes such a move since managing in the NL would require more than adjusting his glasses and his drool bucket.

Would love to see the cry baby Rays move to the NL, so the Phillies can whip their tails some more.
All Maddon does is cry, it's getting a bit old.

Well done, posters. You've said all that needs to be said in just one screenload. The Rays are whining cry babies who don't want to compete with NYY and BOS. And any move to the NL will result in more crying because they'll be looking up at Philly's ample behind in standings for decades afterwards. SHADDDUPP!!

either the red sox or the yankees should be move to the central and bring the indians, or move the rays to the national league on east division for the phillies!!

I think every team expect the Yankees and Red Sox should move to the National League; form 4 divisions of 7 teams apiece; play a 162-game season; and in the end, determine a champion.
Meanwhile the Yankees and Red Sox can each spend all the money they want; play each other 162 times and barnstorm the country if they choose; and in the end determine a champion in a 7-game playoff.
Then... ...the National League champion can play the American League champion (really the Yankee/Red Sox champion) in the World Series every year.
That's a plan!

Talk about stupidity. The Rays biggest home crowds are for the Yankees and Red Sox games. Why would they walk away from that?

They'd walk away from the AL East because money is made by selling season tickets. The income derived from 8 games against the Yanks and the other 8 against the Sox would mean little if the Rays have a better shot at making the postseason every year. There's also a large contingent of NL fans -- the Card's, Reds, Mets, Pirates and Phillies in particular that would probably visit Tropicana Field in similar numbers as the Yanks and Sox.

hey, while we're at it, the jays wouldn't mind out either.
actually, i'd prefer a return to the old 2 division leagues, but keeping the present number of playoff teams. remember the old AL east? that would be epic.

HATER!!!! The RayBaybays wouldnt look too much better in the NL. If moving to the NL is about ticket sales, there wont be any dramatic change. AL teams are better, and draw bigger crowds.
They're based in Tampa, guess whos in Tampa? Retirees who dont wanna spend their retirement $ watching a subpar team. Moving the team's location would make more sense. 1) Solves their AL East problem 2) increased revenue from a new fanbase.

clearly it will be the best move if the rays will go to the nationals east division on exchange for the phillies everybody would benefit from that type of move!!
