09:30 AM ET 06.26 | It will be surprising if Delmon Young and Jim Thome are back with the Twins next season, and it looks as if the outfield will consist of Denard Span in left, Ben Revere in center and a re-signed Jason Kubel in right.

Twins are in permanent rebuilding mode ... Go Cubbies!!!

June 26, 2011  11:17 AM ET

Wait. A CUBS fan just said the Twins are in permanent rebuilding mode? The irony actually hurts.

Thome is a first ballot hall of famer who never used steroids. Young is dissapointment.

its time for this two players to move on, either they retire or play on the minor league!!!

How do we know if Thome used steroids? He has had a longish career as a power hitter. One dimensional, no defensive position. Doubt he will make Hall of Fame, ever.

Wow, a Cubs fan talking smack about a team thats won its division 6 out of the last 9 seasons...keep the dream alive!

Will be sad to see Thome leave. Young has been a bust so far. Bad fielder, compensates with a plus arm, & had 1 good second half last year.

Been saying for years we got screwed on that deal that sent Garza & Bartlett 2 Tampa 4 Young. Hasnt developed into a power righty. Meanwhile Garza has won 34 games in 3 years. Twins havent had a decent SS during that span.

I agree, the Twins have been weak at 3B and SS for years now. Plus, the injuries seem to be a plague for the team.

On Tampon Bay, they were given an amazing deal and gave up a cancer in Young.

I look forward to Maddon crying more and more each year as the Phillies lead all of baseball and his team is stuck in 3rd in the AL East.

Name the top 10 homerun hitters in baseball history.
Name the 10 players with the most hits.
Name the top 10 players for fielding percentage.

If it took more than 1 dimension to get into the HoF, you might have a point.

There are far more players in the HoF based on their bat than on their glove. Thome may not be as "sexy" of a hitter like Bonds or Sosa, but he is a 8th on the all time HR list. How many players have played and been productive for 20 seasons? Slow and steady has he played, but he's still here....not for too much longer, but he's still here.
