Crabtree still hampered by sore foot

07:59 AM ET 06.29 | This time there were no arguments between Alex Smith and reporters, but Camp Alex II did have something in common with much of Part I. Michael Crabtree was on hand for the session but did not go through a full practice because of lingering concerns about his left foot. ... Today he arrived midway through the classroom session and then joined his teammates on the field. At first it appeared as if Crabtree would only watch from the sideline. But during warmups, he briefly left to get a new pair of shoes and then jumped in with teammates for some light warm-up work on the field. When the practice started, he hung close to the quarterbacks, charting plays. According to a teammate, the problem is Crabtree's left foot, which required surgery to correct a stress fracture prior to the 2009 draft.

And this was the clown who held out for more money his rookie year. If that foot isn't 100% after 2 years, his career isn't going to amount to much.

Mornin'.
In SanFran, even a healthy body is no guarantee of a successful career, unless you're Jim Harbaugh's tooth-whitener guy.

Crabtree's most disabling injury and the one that still affects him is 'turf brain'.

And poor ownership and a jackass for a GM. And some PTSD from having Wade Philips as HC for part of a season.

I sence, and maybe its just my cynical side, that when an athlete, oh lets use Tiger for example, falls miserably below expectations, that an injury is a good cure for what ails your ego.
If mr Crabtree had lit up the field last year and reached anywhere close to expectations, no one would have heard the words 'foot injury'.

If you're not a fan then what's your concern? You obviously did not watch any of the draft otherwise you would know that the 49ers did draft a QB.

When you have Jiimmy Raye as the offensive coordinator and Mike Singletary as you Head Coach and both are of a mindset that they want to make Frank Gore and the running game the center of their offense and the passing game can take a back seat, no wonder their wide receivers had lousy stats.
