08:06 AM ET 06.30 | The Pistons could be nearing the end of their search to replace John Kuester. Former Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Woodson will be town Thursday for his second interview, according to two people with knowledge of the situation. Woodson is expected to meet with Platinum Equity partners Bob Wentworth and Phil Norment, who were introduced with new owner Tom Gores at a news conference this month. It is believed that the new coach also would have to meet with Gores before the hiring is official. Gores is expected to be in New York [Wednesday] as NBA owners and the National Basketball Players Association make a last-ditch attempt to solve their labor issues before the collective bargaining agreement expires at 12:01 a.m. Friday. It's unlikely the Pistons will have a new coach before the weekend.

respectfully disagree. Greg Monroe and Brandon Knight will mark the beginning of a new era for Detroit and a new act for Joe D.

HAHA...thanks. We've been in the lotto two years now, I think we did well both years. If Joe D doesn't survive the new ownership it won't be because of the draft (IMO), the contracts may be his undoing.

I want laimbeer, woodson is a medicore coach at best with no real upside can you really see mike woodson ever being a championship winning coach? I think not sure he's an upgrade over the last two smucks lol but weren't going to the promised land with woodson so please stop hiring stop gap coaches and hire a real winner.

The Knight drafting pretty much concedes the fact that the Stuckey experiment was a failure right?
