'Stupid' to announce stadium in Minnesota

07:59 AM ET 07.01 | Lawmakers in Minnesota have larger concerns than a football stadium, though it remains a topic of significant discussion. The early reports had sent opponents of the Arden Hills stadium scrambling. Rep. Alice Hausman, DFL-St. Paul, said the reports led to a 30-minute conference call Wednesday that included her and St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman. It's just clear that something was in the air," Hausman said later in the day. "Now, nothing's in the air. If anyone is stupid enough to announce that there is a deal on the Vikings before there's a deal on the budget, it's beyond comprehension what the reaction of the public would be to that," she added.

Maybe they should create an incentive plan. Once they win some games without grandpa at quarterback, maybe the public will foot part of the bill on a stadium.

I can't imagine the tax payers NOT getting stiffed with a large part of the bill. Perhaps selling tickets to watching Grandpa getting sacked over and over until he's nothing but a puddle of what looks like milk with gray whiskers floating on top would generate some revenue.

They can't fix the roof on their old stadium.

And you can't fix stupid.

True, but those were the early Clinton years, when even the Federal government ran a surplus. The trick was to keep the Legislature from spending every extra cent that came in.

Yes, very funny. The same democracy in a free vote that gave Saddam Hussein a 99% return.

Seriously? You equate the vote in MN to the vote in Iraq? Really? You think that the way that the election in MN was held equates to the way that the elections(s) was held in Iraq. Really?
