10:11 AM ET 07.03 | Earlier this week, the executive director of the USGA sat in the clubhouse of the Olympic Club in San Francisco and was thinking about the historic U.S. Open that just took place, 2,431 miles away, in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. While at the site of next year's U.S. Open, Mike Davis wanted to make one thing very clear. In no way, shape or form would Rory McIlroy's record-setting 16-under par at Congressional Country Club alter his philosophy when it comes to setting up a golf course. "Won't change one thing," Davis told the Post in a phone interview. "I think we know enough to know that Mother Nature caused it to be easier this year. Last thing we want to do is retaliate, where good shots wouldn't be rewarded."

Good call.

So they'll change courses because of Tiger Woods dominance of a course, but not of a white golfer? Interesting.... The anti-Tiger establishment continues....

-16 doesn't win next year at Olympic. The USGA know it, the players know it, the golf fans know it.

That said, the USGA never returns to Congressional.

I hope you're found in a dark, dank, urine-soaked alley in Chinatown with your throat slashed and your genitalia stuffed in your gaping maw.

Quick, call Morris Dees.

A conspiracy is afoot.

That's the most pathetic comment I've seen on these, or any other threads, for a couple of years. So sad. I hope you get beter.

It is a weird comment, isn't it?

One really has to go over the wall in left to pull that one back.

Truth has no color. It's either true..............or it's not. People who view a golf tournament in terms of race are pathetic.

There are no "true" facts, or "false" facts either. A fact is true by definition. Just like those who try to bring race into a discussion of golf rules and course design are nitwits, by definition..

That's a brutal course. IIRC Tim Simpson won the Open there one year with a score of +1.
