Seattle offered two picks for Kolb

08:01 AM ET 07.04 | Four months into the lockout, Kevin Kolb remains in a suspended state of limbo. He wants to be traded; the Eagles seemingly want to move him. The Eagles know what at least some of the potential offers available are. ... [A reporter in Seattle] has "heard from a source" that the Seahawks "have offered" the Eagles both a first- and third-round pick for Kevin Kolb. As pointed out elsewhere, the wording "have offered" suggests that this was either a previous offer and it is unclear where it stands now. Interesting issue where the Eagles stand now is, do you want players or draft picks in return? if you take picks, you essentially would get nothing for Kolb that would impact the 2011 season, but would have building blocks for the future. The more recent speculation has indicated players are preferred.

So... if players are preferred... who?

July 4, 2011  08:29 AM ET

Kolb was overheard saying 'I always wanted to ride in a stretch limbo, but I never thought it would be like this.'

If the Eagles are smart, they'll take a deal like this when the lockout ends. Kolb isn't as good as people think.

Pretty sad when an average QB is in high demand ...

Seven career starts. Mixed results. Wants at least a reported $30 million guaranteed money in a new contract. Could not stay on the field when given the starting job. Hmmmm?

Outside of 8-10 teams QB play in the NFL has been lackluster. Hence we get Cam Newton drafted #1 and veterans like Kolb in high demand.

It's a watered-down league if you ask me.

KOLB IS NOT GOING ANY WHERE!!!!

Some people are so ****!

The demand is media-generated. When the lockout ends, it won't take long to see who the smarter GMs are who look past the hype and see what is clear for everyone else to see.

I don't think the league is watered down so much as teams aren't putting the effort into finding quality QBs. Owners want some sort of top draft pick name value that will put butts in seats, whereas guys like Matt FLynn in Green Bay go overlooked by most people outside of Green Bay's fan base.

Word That...

I work in the Philly Area and all they talked about last year was Kolb Kolb Kolb...

Then Vick showed up and everyone talked about the two 300 yard games in '09 and how Philly could get multiple high round picks, players, Gold Bullion, etc...

Kolb has yet to play an entire year and when he has played - he's been mediocre...

If Philly can get a 1st rounder - I'd say take it...

July 4, 2011  10:12 AM ET

It is all up to Kolb to pick his team, not the Eagles. If he does not sign an extended contract, then no one will trade for him. He is UFA in a year.

I hope you all have a fun safe 4TH of July holiday. I would have been going to one of our state parks but with the Minnesota government shut down they are all closed. so it's the deck and the B.B.Q. for me and the little lady!

That would be asking to much from the writer. Then he would have to do some research and think.

That's why Philadelphia should be thinking about what they can get for him. 1- 5th round draft choice, 2- 10 footballs 3- years supply of Gatorade.

If they get a 1st for him Banner should be named executive of the year. That would be a fleecing in the neighborhood of to Herschel Walker to the ViQueens.
