Texans expected to chase Asomugha

08:01 AM ET 07.06 | A good deal of work will have to be accomplished on the defensive side of the ball in Houston, but a shortcut could come in the form of a big-ticket free agent. The Texans indeed are prepared to be aggressive in free agency, according to league sources, and will be among the teams pursuing All-Pro cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. While awaiting a collective bargaining agreement and new free-agency rules, it's very difficult to gauge the market and how high the price for a top cornerback will go. But look for the Texans to closely monitor that market and determine if the price point on Asomugha fits their budget. The secondary is an area in need of upgrade, and the Texans routinely have been willing to spend under dedicated owner Bob McNair.

So will a lot of other teams who need secondary help. One plays in the same state, no less.

He's going to get paid no matter where he goes. He would do a world of good for the Texans, but then he'd help any team.

Bob McNair won't do jack. This is the same guy who claimed last year that the team was on the "right track" and that owners were patting him on the back because his team played close games. He is clueless about hiring the right people and spending money on the right people. They will offer Aso 3 mil less than asking price and then look fans in the face and say "we tried."

I think the Texans will have a harder time. I'd think at this point in his career he wants a title. The Steelers SHOULD go after him but the Rooneys never spend that type of money. Dallas will throw cash at thim but the NFC East is gonna be tight between the Giants, Eagles and Cowboys. Baltimore would love him but I don't think they have the cap space. So where oh were will this guy wind up?
