08:04 AM ET 07.06 | Tiki Barber, at this point, is motivated by more than money and gaining yards. His greater aim is to restore purpose to a life gone horribly astray since he retired from the New York Giants while still in his prime at the end of the 2006 season, one year before they won the Super Bowl. "I have my health. I have a desire," says Barber, 36, after a recent grueling workout. "I have a need to do something and know I can be successful." ... Barber notes that the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Bucs are on that short list. He also received an overture from former Giants coach Jim Fassel to join the Las Vegas Locos of the United Football League for a season that begins in mid-August.

You need a bucket list, Tiki. Like Ocho.

July 6, 2011  08:14 AM ET

Let's play with your brother or a team that went to the Super Bowl... Better hope you get invited to ANY team, you fool.

July 6, 2011  08:16 AM ET

Sounds like Fassel would love to have him.

He should go there... and feed his ego.

July 6, 2011  08:19 AM ET

Who cares what you like, Tiki?

July 6, 2011  08:20 AM ET

Stay at home Tiki.....your day has passed

July 6, 2011  08:22 AM ET

Hide your kids, hide your wife!!

July 6, 2011  08:22 AM ET

Tampa Bay only because he thinks his brother can ease him back into a locker room.

July 6, 2011  08:26 AM ET

They wouldn't have him in Pittsburgh!

Tiki is such a knob!

July 6, 2011  08:28 AM ET

How do we know that's not a picture of Rhonde (or however the hell you spell it)?

Exactly... The Rooneys would NEVER sign him.

Mickey Rooney would never have signed him.

Just like him to think he has weight to choose where he lands.

**** Tiki Barber... who is he kidding, he's not motivated by $ and gaining yards. What an idiot. Worthless piece of crap. Loser. Go play for the CFL or LFL. Why is this piece of **** news anyway.

July 6, 2011  09:01 AM ET

I hope no one picks him up. He is a looser on and off the field

He's not going to restore purpose to his life by playing football. He has 3 kids, a separated wife, and a disgruntled fanbase in NYC. These are good places to start.

July 6, 2011  09:30 AM ET

Well anyone can visit Heinz field, just buy a ticket. But as a player...... maybe try the UFL Tiki

July 6, 2011  09:51 AM ET

Sniff, sniff. It's hard to keep from sobbing when a great human being like Tiki wants to restore purpose to his life. Personally I think he wants to restore millions to his bank account.

July 6, 2011  10:03 AM ET

Pretty easy to pile on Tiki now.. He criticized the coach who made him an all-pro. He stabbed his QB in the back. He walked away from the team and the game that made him a star. He cheated on his wife and destroyed his family. He blew his big TV career and now he's broke. But the kid is looking for a lifeline here. He's looking to make it back to a normal life (for him). He is at best a situational runner in the NFL and I'm pretty sure he knows that at this point. He wants a job at something he used to do well. I hope he makes it.

July 6, 2011  10:43 AM ET

He should learn to be a defensive back and then he and his brother could each play a half and stay fresh.
Who would know?

July 6, 2011  10:45 AM ET

perhaps he will end up at a tiki bar...
