08:19 AM ET 07.06 | Neither are taller than 5-foot-11, but newcomer Darroll Powe and Cal Clutterbuck could form, at more than 200 pounds apiece, a hard-hitting duo in Minnesota. Powe, for one, likes the idea. "I've heard that from a few different people," he said Tuesday from his home in Philadelphia, "and to be honest the thought has come across my mind, as well. It'd be fun to play with him, but I'll be happy just to be part of that organization. Wherever I fit in, I'll fit in." Clutterbuck, too, is on board. "I think it'd be good if it happens," he said. "Obviously, it's still the first week of July, so my mind's not exactly on line combinations just yet." Powe, 26, avoided arbitration by signing a three-year, $3.2 million contract with the Wild on Tuesday, immediately becoming the team's No. 2 hitting machine.

Clemmenson the #1 G, Theodore his backup. Fans in Florida won't see any playoffs action in 2012 unless they travel to Tampa.

"Powe, Clutterbuck form impact duo"???

They changed the title of the thread, not the story. Nice going interns.

Now they changed the story. I guess we really, really needed a Wild thread...

My bud pulled a fast one on me last week end while camping; he told me the Habs re-signed Theodore....I was so angry that he finally caved because he didn't want me to be upset all week end!

I'm gonna miss Powe. He's actually a pretty fast skater and he knows how to throw clean hard checks.

This fascination with the Wild is a Clutter something but buck is not the proper suffix

We benefit from a lack of off season substance testing. I prefer HGH with my scotch ;-) On that note that big stinkin egotastic liar Clemons finally hits the courts right away Slappy. I hope they whack his wee wee as they did Bonds

Be careful Harry. The "Snarky Childish Hockey Comment Association" has scheduled me for a piss test on Friday.

I've been studying all week.

Replacement for Comment #5

Now that they have Powe can "Bam," "Zonk," and "Zowie" be far behind?

Holy Intercourse Batman.

I guess you can't say **** but it's okay to have a racist Throwndown up on the board? Check out the TD "Black People don't make good NASCAR fans." It's been reported as an offensive thrown by no fewer than 5 FN members but it's still there. And still offensive. If you have the time please report it.
Thanks, Canuck eh.

Powe will be a good addition for the Wild. Don't know if they have enough scoring or how their D and goaltending (coulda had a Vokoun ;) is, but they won't be dissappointed in Powe. I think I am going to miss him more than Leino.

Niklas Backstrom is a very good goalie...

I'd say there's little chance they end up on the same line. One of them will have to be on a line with Heatley to balance out HIS lack of heart.

July 6, 2011  12:36 PM ET

They can start working on their hits with their new teamate.
